This reader was built using a text editor and
Netscape Composer, and tested on Microsoft Internet Explorer,
Google Chrome and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Acrobat:
All articles in this reader are in Adobe Acrobat
format (PDF) and require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in to be
active in your browser.
To retrieve the latest version available click

Visibility tips:
There are a number of things you can do to
improve your reading experience:
Browser:
Use “Full Screen” mode by pressing
the <F11> key (all the menus and bars will be temporarily
hidden). Press <F11> again to resume to normal view. If <F11> does not work, try
clicking the
browser frame first. A “Full Screen” icon can also
be added to the command bar.
Reader:
Every time you open an issue of New Times, the
document is presented in “Page Width” mode. Hold
down <CTRL> + 3 to zoom to the width of the text and <CTRL>
+ 2 to resume to Page Width. If the control keys do not work,
try clicking in the reader window first. There are also some
right mouse button controls. You may also open an issue of New Times in a separate browser
window by holding down the control key while selecting the issue in the
menu. Printing:
To print the currently displayed issue of New
Times, hold down the right mouse button and use the print option
there (this will most likely give better results than the print
function of your browser).
Searching:
.. in the current file:
Hold down the right mouse button and select
search. A search panel will appear to the side of the text.
.. across all files:
This cannot be done within the New Times Reader
itself, but can be accomplished in several ways:
Run Acrobat independently, and use the full search tool
(specifying the
path to the New Times files).
The first time you run a search across the New Times files, it takes a
long time to generate the results. However, Acrobat indexes the
files
so subsequent searches become very quick.
This tool produces a list which can preview the files directly, or can
be
used merely as a way to find the required issues which you can then
access in the New Times reader.
NOTE: In order to maximise your search ability in Acrobat, the
following settings should be used:
In edit/preferences - search tab tick "Show document title in search results"
set maximum number of documents to 1600
tick "Enable fast find"
set maximum cache size to 600 MB
Windows search & indexing tools.
Desktop Search Tool such as “Google Desktop” or
“Copernic”.
These Desktop Search
tools are by far the fastest (much like the internet search engines
of Google, Yahoo, etc.) and can be set to continuously index
your entire
computer. All files and emails (including attachments) are
searched and reported almost instantly! If you are a
serious researcher, a desktop search tool is a must!
