Eggs were once an important part of a healthy diet, at least while I was a lass, but then, so called science found that eggs were high in cholesterol, which was at the time seen as the main cause of cardio-vascular disease. However, as discussed by Dr Mercola at a now deleted post, eggs are not the source of ill-health, like refined sugar, and contain numerous important nutrients, vitamins and minerals, including selenium, vitamins B2 (riboflavin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B7 (biotin) and B12, iodine, vitamin D, zinc, omega-3 fats, lutein, zeaxanthin and choline, as well as being an excellent source of high-quality protein. With the price of meats increasing, eggs remain good value for money, and usually one can support local Aussie farmers in the process.
