5 December 1980. Thought for the Week:
".... but man's deadliest weapon is language. He is susceptible
to being hypnotised by slogans and symbols, as he is infectious
to diseases. And when there is an epidemic the group mind
takes over. It obeys its own rules, which are different from
the rules of conduct of individuals."

CONSERVATIVE QUEENSLANDThe Queensland State election results have confirmed the view of objective observers that the great majority of Queenslanders are basically conservative. While Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen demonstrated that he is the dominating political personality in Queensland, it must also be noted that he is seen by a large number of Queenslanders as one who reflects their own approach to life. The Premier has demonstrated that he does understand his fellow Queenslanders. This is beyond the understanding of the trendy liberals, who in spite of all the sneering through the media, have once again been forced to eat their own words. First in the Senate elections and again
in the State elections, the Queensland Liberals openly challenged
the National Party. They have been defeated both times. The
suggestion by Queensland ALP President, Dr. Denis Murphy,
that the Labor Party would consider supporting a private Liberal
Members bill for a "fair distribution", raises once again
the old theme about electoral "gerrymandering". Dr. Murphy
refers to the "principle" of one vote, one value. The system
of British representative government was not evolved in an
attempt to produce some statistical result or "majority rule".
The underlying concept was representation of interests, as
witnessed by the fact that in Britain, University cities,
at one time, had their own representatives. Questions of geography
are also vital. During the election campaign the Premier stated once again his desire to establish a State Bank, and also his desire to use it to grant preferential interest rates to young Queenslanders and others. If Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen is to achieve his objective, it is imperative that he first takes over the Treasureship. It is no secret that the Liberals have been the major obstacle in the past to the establishment of a State Trading Bank. The election of Mrs. Florence Bjelke-Petersen to the Senate, and the major victory of Mr. Joh Bjelke-Petersen's National Party last Saturday, paves the way for a Queensland based tax revolt with far reaching implications. The natural conservatism of the Queensland electorate is a firm base on which to mount an effective challenge against the financial dictators at Canberra. |
BEHIND THE NEW "ANTI-SEMITISM"In his great classic, "The Zionist Connection", American Jewish expert on the Middle East, Dr. Alfred Lilienthal, documents how the Political Zionists have used "anti- semitism" in an attempt to silence critics. Zionist spokesmen have recently referred to what they claim is a manifestation of a new "anti-Semitism" in the shape of The Institute For Historical Review, now openly supported by a growing number of academics. Coincidentally there has recently been an outburst of what has been described as "neo-Nazism" in France, with Jews allegedly being threatened. And in Canada there has also been an outburst of "anti-Semitism". The distinguished Canadian research expert, Mr. Patrick Walsh, former Royal Canadian Mounted Police undercover agent, has exposed the agents-provocateurs behind this, documenting the fact that some of those promoting "anti-Semitism" were Jews. Now comes the news from France that the
police have arrested Jean-Yves Pellay, a top member of what
is claimed to be a "neo-Nazi party", for statements he has
made on the bombing on October 3rd of a Paris synagogue when
four people were killed. Pellay has claimed that he is a Jew
who allegedly infiltrated the European Nationalist Group,
allegedly in order to discredit it. Pellay now says that the
FNE was not involved in the bombing, but that he had anonymously
telephoned news organisations to claim responsibility in the
name of the FNE, this resulting in news stories which were
used to justify a series of French demonstrations against
"anti-Semitic" organisations. (Those wishing to understand this subject in depth should read Alfred Lilienthal's suppressed work, "The Zionist Connection", $30 posted, and Douglas Reed's "Controversy of Zion", $14 posted. |
ON THE ROAD TO REVOLUTIONAccording to the Governor General's address opening Federal Parliament on Tuesday, November 26th, the Fraser Government promises "a continued fight against inflation" and a better explanation of policies. All the "explanations" churned out by the Government's public relations team will not alter the fact that if the policies for "fighting" inflation which have now been tried for five years, are continued with, promised assistance to the young unemployed will not prevent the growth of youth unemployment. Nor will they reduce inflation. Australia is marching down the same revolutionary
road being travelled by all industrialised nations. Under
present financial rules, any relaxation of restrictive credit
policies must result in a further soaring of the inflation
rate. The British situation is demonstrating beyond all argument
that there are no alternatives to disaster under present financial
policies. Sir Geoffrey Howe, British Chancellor
of the Exchequer, has claimed in Parliament that inflation
is falling - but still at over 15 percent, but admits that
the depression is deeper than he had anticipated. The biggest
rally against unemployment seen since the Great Depression
indicates the shape of things to come. But with an invincible
stupidity, Prime Minister Thatcher has promised the British
that, "I believe we are approaching the trough of the depression",
and that they would see "the light at the end of the tunnel"
by the end of next year." Just when the "experts" were claiming - once again! - that the American recession was easing; Americans are warned that basic prices are set to soar upwards again. The big increase in interest rates is having a devastating effect on the housing industry. The American majority who voted for Ronald Reagan is anxiously waiting to ascertain what the Reagan Administration is going to do to reverse the deepening crisis. Unless there are basic changes, frustration could produce disillusionment with the whole process of constitutional government. BRIEF COMMENTSIt would be interesting to know what Prime Minister Fraser thinks of the type of "justice" now operating in Zimbabwe, where Comrade Robert Mugabe, Prime Minister, says that he will pardon Cabinet Minister Edgar Tekere if he is convicted of murdering a white farmer. Information Officer, Mr. Shamuyarira has told a private group of journalists in London that Mr. Mugabe was determined that Tekere will not spend one night in prison whatever the court's decision. A pardon for a convicted Tekere would be the last straw for thousands of whites who have stayed on in Rhodesia hoping that Mugabe might prove moderate. There would be an even greater white exodus than the one now taking place. South Africa is resisting desperately the UN backed proposals, which would enable the Communist South West African People's Organisation (SWAPO) to come to power in what is now called Namibia. Running true to form, the Fraser Government supports the concept of SWAPO being permitted to participate in elections for an "independent" Namibia. Using the same terrorist tactics applied in Rhodesia, SWAPO could win in what would then be described as "free and fair" elections, similar to those held in Rhodesia. One of the most disastrous results of the white retreat from Africa has been a collapse of agriculture and mass famine. The disintegration of Rhodesian agriculture is adding to the growing crisis. African politicians who publicly abuse South Africa know that most of their countries are economically dependent upon South Africa. There is no mass famine with starving Africans in South Africa. Southern African States - Angola - Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania and Lesotho - are now asking the West for $2,000m aid to finance projects aimed at lessening independence on South Africa. This request has been made at a Southern African Development Conference opened this week by Comrade Machel of Mozambique. We have no doubt that this strategy meets with warm approval in Moscow. Mr. Charlie Bernstein's attempt to import steel rulers with metric measurements on one side and imperial measurements on the other highlights the type of bureaucratic madness and totalitarianism imposed upon Australians. Customs officials have written to Mr. Bernstein pointing out that his shipment of 25 dozen 12 x three quarter inch rulers are... prohibited imports under the provisions of regulation 41 of the ninth schedule to the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations." |
