11 May 2001. Thought for the Week: During
the 19th century (as Dr. Kastein, again, records) the term
'anti-semitism' was born. As 'persecution' could no longer
be said to exist, some new word had to be found, capable of
intimidating Gentiles and terrifying Jews, the second purpose
being more important than the first, and 'anti-semitism' was
invented. 'Abracadabra' might have served just as well, for
the term 'anti-semitism' is patently absurd in relation to
people who are demonstrably not Semites and whose Law commands
the extirpation of Semites (the Arab peoples of Palestine;
any expression of sympathy with the Semitic Arabs, expelled
from their native land by the Zionist intruders in 1948, in
time came to be attacked as 'anti-semitism'). "Presumably
the authors of this term desired to keep such words as Jew,
Jewish and anti-Jewish out of the public controversy and counted
on intimidating the mass-mind by the introduction of an obscurantist
word...."

MORE COOKED FIGURESby Jeremy Lee The reason for the disparity between official and true figures is that anyone who has been employed for one hour in a given week, but would accept a full-time job, is classified by the ABS as "employed". Those forced to accept "work-for-the-dole" are also classed as "fully employed". A government which lies to the people may get away with it when things are reasonable economically. But in periods of recession the 'porkies' come out into the open. The Morgan Poll concluded: " .... There is little doubt, with real unemployment at 10.5%, that Australia is now in a recession caused by the GST....." The only people denying this, inevitably, are the politicians still clinging to the hope they'll be voted back at the next election. |
CAMPBELL JOINS HANSONA radio news-flash this morning ((May 3) said that former federal member for Kalgoorlie Graeme Campbell has agreed to join One Nation with the possibility of standing in the forthcoming Federal Election. There was understandable resentment when One Nation contributed to Campbell losing Kalgoorlie by standing against him when they had so much in common. It will be a real test of maturity for grassroots supporters of both One Nation and Campbell's Australia First if they are prepared to bury personal differences and work together for the good of Australia. There is no doubt that Campbell's experience and knowledge will be a far more formidable force than the disruptive "two-Davids". If conservative, nationally-loyal men and women can provide a cohesive grass-roots base across Australia, it will bode ill for the myopic Liberals, the "policy-lazy" Labor and, above all, the self-indulgent Nationals. Linked to the emerging issue, picked up by AusScan, that a large majority of Australians see globalism as dangerous, with growing support for the Buy-Australian campaign, we can expect not just flips but double-somersaults from the major party players in the coming months. |
GLOBAL PROTESTS CONTINUE TO STRENGTHENNews hitting the world headlines about
the 25,000 protesters who took to the streets of Quebec City,
followed by major protests at stock exchanges throughout the
western world on May 1st are causing growing consternation
amongst the global elite. The Editorial in The Guardian
Weekly (April 26th-May 2nd) began: There is no doubt the global power-establishment does not know what to make of the new movement, or how to handle it. There seems little doubt they are considering new weapons to deal with protesters. One Internet report from someone attending the protests in Quebec told of a new "crowd-control" weapon in the form of an electro-magnetic type gun which will throw a ray 400 metres. A major survey in The Australian Financial Review (Weekend, 28-29/4/01) said that nothing like the dimensions of this protest movement had been seen since the days of the Vietnam protests. It quoted The Economist: " ....Last September, The Economist, intellectual bastion of laissez-faire capitalism, stopped ridiculing the anti-corporate movement and started treating it as a serious threat. It editorialised: 'The protesters are right that the most pressing moral, political and economic issue of our time is Third World poverty. And they are right that the tide of globalisation, powerful as the engines driving it may be, can be turned back. The fact that both these things are true is what makes the protesters - and, critically, the strand of popular opinion that sympathises with them - so terribly dangerous.'" Dangerous? To whom? Obviously, to those who are using globalisation as a means of grabbing world power. |
NOW FOR SOME GOOD NEWSIn the midst of depressing stories about
foreign takeovers, it is nice to be able to report on an Australian-owned
success - the development of a collapsible shipping container.
More than 95% of world trade is done on ships. The transport
of goods from one part of the world to another has by far
the biggest impact on the environment. 30% of the cost of
consumer goods is the freight to move them to market. Increasingly,
shipping is done in massive steel containers that dominate
wharf-space, and have to be returned. Empty container repositioning
costs are a major head-ache, involving a cost of about $A24.8
billion annually. Worldwide there are now 16 million containers
in operation. In excess of 25% of those are empty, with regional
variations of up to 90%. As a sideline, one 'cargo' of empty
containers is illegal immigrants. Now an Australian inventor, Geoff Richter, of Sandgate in Brisbane, has invented a folding container, which is attracting world-wide attention. But it is already in production in Australia, and is remaining Australian-owned. The demand is such that it may be given to overseas builders under Australian licence. It collapses to one third of its size - and cannot be used for smuggling people! The start-up capital has been raised before public listing. Despite our politicians, Australia still has the ingenuity and courage to win this country back! |
AND ANOTHERA Cairns electrician Lou Brits, working with a mechanical engineer John Christie have developed an energy machine based on the electro-magnetic idea which has been around for some time. According to a newspaper report the magnet-driven Lutec 1000, should be powering Queensland households within a year, and was capable of replacing many traditional power sources in the next few years. The model displayed was slightly bigger than the usual back-up generator, but ran almost completely silently. It created power by the attraction and repulsion of magnets. "We provide a pulse of electricity from a battery to get it started and then the magnets spin the motor," Mr. Christie said. "In a 24 hour period it can provide 24 kilowatt-hours of power. An average house-hold uses 14 kilowatts a day, leaving an extra 10 which could be sold to the national power grid." It would be nice to report that the Minister for the Environment, Senator Robert Hill, had rushed to see the new motor, which has the potential to solve the debate about air pollution and global warming. Helping with such inventions - and there are more than one - would do more good than all the Kyoto Conferences in plush hotels at taxpayers' expense. |
THE TIMOR GAPWith the development of Timor as an "independent" nation, a new problem has arisen - whether Timor should be allowed rights over the huge oil and gas reserves within its territorial waters. The trouble is that Australia, in conjunction with international oil companies, has already done some development in the area, after agreements with Indonesia prior to Timorese independence. Timor now says that such agreements are null and void because Indonesia's occupation of Timor was illegal, and it naturally wants full control of its own territorial waters, as does Australia in its own case. Does Australia's intervention on behalf of the Timorese extend as far as giving that troubled island full sovereignty as an independent state? |
DNA TESTING? NEW ID CARD? CALL TO OUST MPSenator Len Harris, of One Nation, is warning Australians of what the Liberals have in mind for them. In fact, Senator Len Harris has called on the voters of Herbert (Qld.) electorate to throw out their Federal Member Peter Lindsay at the next election for wanting to trample all over their civil rights by demanding every Australian citizen be forced to submit DNA samples to a data bank. In January the Attorney General's Department presented a submission to a Parliamentary Justice Committee-National Crime Authority Inquiry calling for compulsory DNA sampling. "This statement from Mr. Lindsay fits in with the Attorney General's plan for a new Australia Card as described in the submission," Senator Harris said. "Mr. Lindsay is testing the water for Attorney General Daryl Williams for his planned introduction of mass testing later this year, probably just after the election," Senator Harris said. "Mr. Lindsay holds his seat with the slenderest of margins, so the people of Townsville can judge him at the coming election. Mr. Williams probably regards Herbert as dispensable anyway given the public hostility towards the government." (One would think the Attorney General Darryl Williams also needs to be thrown out!) Civil liberty and individual rights would be removed by this draconian and probably illegal proposition paving the way for the world's first government DNA data bank, which according to the submission would be operated by private companies. Senator Harris said former Justice Minister Amanda Vanstone also mooted using DNA embedded into credit cards and that eye retina scans be fixed to the new Australia Card. "This is worse than George Orwell forecast in his prophetic book, 1984." He said Australians already had a defacto ID, in the form of the Medicare Card that contained cross-referenced information from various government departments. "The Medicare Card should be sufficient proof of identity for people wanting to open bank accounts, deal with government departments or for identity on voting day." Senator Harris said any form of compulsory DNA sampling could well be in contravention of the Commonwealth Constitution under Section 51 (xxiiiA) that disallows any form of civil conscription concerning medical and dental services. |
TIME FOR PSML?This certainly looks like a very good case for Putting the Sitting Member Last on the ballot paper at the coming federal elections. |
ISRAELIS TARGET JOURNALISTS from MID-EAST REALITIESTargeting journalists by the Israeli Army is not accidental. This is one more means by which the Israelis try to control the Palestinian areas making it both difficult and risky for journalists to inform the world what is really going in. A few months ago even CNN's Cairo Bureau Chief Ben Wedemann was targeted, shot, and hospitalized; but CNN pretty much covered it up. This time the Israelis targeted Laila Odeh of Abu Dhabi TV. And though the intimidation does have a significant impact, many courageous journalists continue to cover, write about, and film, what the Israelis are doing to the Palestinians in order to enforce their apartheid-style policies and attempt to beat the Palestinians into submission. INTOLERANT HOMOSEXUALS ABUSE PELLby Antonia Feitz The homosexual's claim the Church's teaching - that homosexuality is sinful - is 'homophobic'; that 'homophobia' contributes to youth suicide; ergo the Catholic Church contributes to youth suicide. It's complete rubbish. The Catholic Church has been around for quite a while in many different countries and cultures and youth suicide has only increased in the morally permissive, debauched societies of the West. It's more likely that moral degradation and family breakdown, not traditional morality, are responsible for the tragic increase in youth suicide. Out of Christian charity some kind person should tell the protesters that their tactics are completely counter-productive. Common sense would suggest you don't win support for your cause by irritating your opponents. For every homosexual and trendy supporter horrified at Pell's Sydney appointment, hundreds of ordinary Catholics are silently rejoicing that Pell has the courage to fearlessly proclaim Church teaching no matter how politically incorrect it is. |

PETITION: INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION FORCE FOR THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLEto: Mrs. Mary Robinson, UN High Commissioner
for Human Rights. The right to self-determination and continued occupation stand in fundamental conflict. Continued occupation is the root cause of the present situation. It is the machinery of occupation which produces the systematic violation of the range of other individual and collective rights provided for by the Covenant, including the right to liberty and security of person, the right to freedom of movement, the right to control one's own natural resources, and others. It is the machinery of occupation which produces settlements, closures, checkpoints, home demolitions, land confiscation, destruction of crops, and wanton killings by settlers and occupation forces, which the Palestinian people have continued to endure even during the last 7 years under cover of the peace process. Occupation can be maintained only by violence or the threat of violence. Instead of respecting the principles of human rights and international law, and acknowledging the Palestinian right to self-determination, Israel has declared war on the Palestinian people. It has openly unleashed an arsenal of military violence against them. In just six weeks, more than 200 Palestinians have been killed and over six thousand wounded. We demand a total end to the occupation.
We appeal urgently to the High Commissioner for Human Rights
to call for the implementation of the Palestinian right to
self-determination, and as a first step, to call for an international
protection force for the Palestinian people, before continued
violence against Palestinian society results in massive destruction
for the second time in 52 years. |
SYDNEY CONSERVATIVE SPEAKERS' CLUBThe next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 29th. Guest Speaker will be Mrs. Betty Luks, National Director, Australian League of Rights. Subject: "Implications of the Racial Vilification Legislation". There is a belief among the ruling elite that they know what is best for the people, even to telling them what they can think, believe, or say, on such issues as immigration, race and multiculturalism. That is an arrogant assumption and must be challenged. Although the legislation is claimed to be aimed at what is euphemistically called 'racial vilification', it will not end there. Betty Luks will challenge that belief. The meeting will be held at the Estonian Club, 141 Campbell Street, Sydney - commencing at 7.30pm. The cost of attendance is $4 per person (a steal at that price!). Books from the Heritage Book Service will be on display. For enquiries phone: (02) 9759 4450. BOOKSAvailable from all League Book Services: Limited numbers of the book "Dissecting the Holocaust" are again available from the Melbourne Book Shop. Will those who have ordered please send payment. $85.00, $90.00 posted. "Weevils in the Flour" by Wendy Lowenstein. Hands up those who remember the Great Depression! Many of those who experienced the hardships will be dying out, but they would have passed on their experiences to the children. Wendy Lowenstein has put a collection of these experiences into book form. During 'the Great Depression' hundreds of families suffered great hardship, including loss of assets, homes and businesses, all because the policy of the gangster-bankers was imposed on Australians. Mr.Otto Nieymeyer was sent out to Australia, by the Bank of England (an all-powerful private bank), to insist on the foreclosure of private loans and the reduction of social services and pensions, which in turn crippled production and caused poverty to stalk a land of plenty. Unable to get payment for their production, farmers destroyed their crops and about one third of city-dwellers were out of work. Only one State Premier had the fortitude to 'take on the banks' and introduced a moratorium on debt. All of which is a lesson for a people who are foolish enough to let their politicians place their 'national interests' in the hands of international gangster-bankers. This book has great historical value. Price: $32:00 Posted $37.00 |
