GOD BLESS YOU, MA'AM

Simon Heffer of the UK journal The Spectator 2nd April, 2005 did my heart good. He condemned the spiteful attacks on Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles and said she would make a perfect Queen for the future King Charles. By the time this edition of On Target reaches our subscribers the couple will have married and we wish them well and the greatest of joy and happiness in their life together.

Simon Heffer, with tongue in cheek wrote:
"Ours would be a grim age if we were to deny millions of people cheap and satisfying entertainment, and so, therefore, perhaps we should be especially grateful to the Prince of Wales and Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles as they approach their wedding day. Few people in Britain seem to welcome the happiness the couple clearly feel as they approach the regularisation of their relationship. However, the joy the public finds instead in engaging in acts of spite, hypocrisy, gratuitous vilification and outright republicanism seems to more than make up for it."

I find it hard to believe that all Brits feel and act as spitefully as Simon Heffer writes of and condemns. The problem is those who think otherwise do not have means of airing their views. It is the vicious 'socialist-republic establishment' and media who have access to that medium. But the media doesn't balk at using the Royal Family to sell their newspapers, and many is the photographer who makes his living off the Royal Family. I well remember what happened when the Australian Heritage Society was searching for an appropriate photograph of Prince Charles for the front cover of the book: The People's Prince. We approached the usual commercial companies and the prices quoted for using a photograph of Prince Charles were just outrageous. It's okay to make use of them when there is 'a quid in it', and it is also okay to 'shaft them' at other times.
Must admit to a hearty laugh at hearing Prince Charles murmur under his breath just what he thought of their shoddy behaviour during the ski-holiday photo-op, as reported on TV news.
It was probably an angry outburst in defence of his future wife. Again, we say, God bless you Ma'am.

WHY DON'T THEY TELL IT AS IT IS?

As a mark of respect The Prince of Wales postponed his marriage to Mrs Parker Bowles for the following day, Saturday the 9th April 2005, so that the wedding did not coincide with the late Pontiff's funeral. His Royal Highness represented The Queen at the funeral service. As usual, the media did not even wait for details of the date of the funeral to be confirmed before publicly castigating Prince Charles for marrying on the same day!
Now they criticise The Queen for not attending personally. However the convention is that the Sovereign never attends funerals other than for family members. By a similar convention, the Pope also does not attend funerals, but on this the media is of course silent.

MORE MONEY MYTHS

The social credit movement in general, and the League in particular have directed considerable energies towards understanding and dealing with the "money question". Other authors and movements have also addressed this question and attempted to explain the inner workings of the money power, an elite group who manipulate the destiny of nations. The story of money is a story based upon greed, treachery and the lust for power and in this story the Christian can see all the frailties and foibles of the human condition. And yet, could it be that this saga of fire and tempest is at an end? Could money be at an end?

Richard W. Rahn believes so and states the case in The End of Money and the Struggle for Financial Privacy, (Discovery Institute Press, Seattle and Washington 1999). Rahn believes that technological developments associated with the internet and e-commerce have rendered the system of centralised banking an anachronism. The digital age has made new electronic money systems possible. This will lead to the decay of central banking and a movement towards decentralised finance. This will represent a return to the philosophy of the early days of the U.S. when there was no central bank and a plurality of individual money instruments. A true free enterprise will emerge.

Rahn assumes that "money" is essentially equivalent to paper money and that digitalisation means the "end of money". That is financially naïve. Economic textbooks always define "money" as that which is accepted in payment in transactions. For a long time, in the form of credit, money has had an "immaterial" form. Today it is primarily digital. The creation of credit by private banking entities for a long time has been private money.
Contrary to Rahn, this has not led to the greater freedom of the individual but to a financial tyranny equal to that imposed by centralised governments.

Rahn and his members of the Austrian School of Economics are radical libertarians - they believe that all social and legal restraints on human freedom are bad and that governments and states are unjustified and unnecessary. The private sector can handle things like defence, policing and financing. The Libertarians revolted against all forms of collectivism but one: capitalist collectivism where corporations take on a legal and social existence of their own.

Libertarians see only governments as oppressive. But a wealth of literature clearly establishes that private corporations, such as the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve can be as oppressive as any State. In this sense, libertarianism does not go far enough in its argument for human freedom. But it also goes too far because governments have a legitimate role in preserving social order if they can operate as neutral umpires.

C. H. Douglas emphasised in Social Credit that the association of people is necessary for individuals to satisfy many of their needs and wants. Thus to suppose that governments can be eliminated and replaced by private corporations is socially naïve. For example, a private security firm supplying policing could be met by the force of a warlord's own private army. This leads to a state of anarchism, a war of all against all.

Contrary to Rahn and other libertarians, "money" is not disappearing in the digital age. The problems which Major Douglas so brilliantly discussed - and the solution that he offered us in the form of social credit, remains with us still.
The League stocks a wealth of material dealing with the money problem. For a clear exposition The Money Trick in its 2004 edition published by Veritas Publishing is a little book which no actionist should be without.
Eric D. Butler wrote some brilliant and tremendously insightful books on this issue:
The Enemy Within the Empire: A Short History of the Bank of England and The Money Power Versus Democracy.
Major C.H. Douglas's The Use of Money, The Monopoly of Credit, and Dictatorship by Taxation are classics that should be read and re-read.
A university course in economics may still leave one financially ignorant - and probably brain washed in the process. The book service of the League however removes the excuse for being financially ignorant.

DON'T PITY THEM

US billionaire investor George Soros recently pleaded with French judges to overturn a $3.66 million insider trading conviction because the conviction was a "gift" to his many enemies who are using it against him. The 74-year old Jewish banker, who was primarily responsible for the Asian financial crisis, was found guilty in 2002 of using insider information in the Societe Generale bank takeover scandal, 17 years ago. As is common practice amongst the financial elite, Soros came by information from French financier Georges Pebereau that he was planning to take over Societe Generale. Soros argues in defence that he didn't know that the information was privileged.
Tough, intention is not an element of the offence. Soros seems to have admitted that he received the information and bought shares. Thus, by definition he engaged in insider trading. It will be interesting to see if the French judges accept his argument that "his reputation is at stake". George, haven't you heard of the rule of law?

"Civil rights" lawyer Lynne Stewart, 65, has been convicted of aiding convicted terrorists by helping Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman "smuggle his words of violence out of prison". (Adelaide Advertiser 12/2/05)
The Sheik was convicted in 1995 for a failed plot to blow up several New York landmarks. Stewart handled his appeal and she went further and issued a press release Statement from the sheik. The sheik, however, was not permitted to make public statements.
Of course we should be concerned about the threat to freedom posed by such anti-terrorist laws. Arguably, laws such as the USA Patriot Act I and II are acts of terrorism themselves, threatening fundamental constitutional rights. Yet even storm clouds have silver linings. Perhaps in the short run, a number of left-wing "civil rights" lawyers, who have done so much to destroy western Christian civilisation, may be culled in the process.

…BUT, DO FEEL SORRY FOR …

WHO SAYS RACE DOESN'T COUNT?

We have placed Mr. Charlie Reese's article to follow on from this one. This one first appeared in Instauration in the late 1970s and was republished in the League's The New Times in 1979 - 26 years ago. It is just as relevant today as the day it was first written.

"The Shah of Iran was of the same opinion as our liberals. He thought that all he had to do was to "teach" his people about the merits of Western culture, to modernise his country by introducing industrialism and emancipating women, and he would even surpass "the declining West". The Shah read the glorious history of ancient Iran and he thought that the modern descendants of Asiatic, Turkish, Mongolic, and Arab tribes are identical with the Aryans of the past. There are few individuals in Iran today who can claim such an ancestry. The Shah wrote in his auto-biography: "Certainly no-one can doubt that our culture is more akin to that of the West than is… that of our neighbours, the Arabs. Iran was an early home of the Aryans from whom most Americans and Europeans descended, and we are racially quite separate from the Semitic stock of the Arabs …"
What an Iranian poet wrote is more significant: "They're cramming this so-called Western culture down our throats, force-feeding us with all kinds of rubbish and bad dreams. But I know in my heart that our people won't accept it. Maybe this generation is lost. But in the end we'll reject the bad dream. We'll come back to ourselves."
Women played a prominent part in the explosion of popular feeling. How did they react? They veiled themselves with the traditional "chador" to defy the Shah and the European-style feminism. It seems as if the so-called struggle of women preached by our radical women's organisations is only a fake. Women in Iran and in the East call emancipation "prostitution".

NO TRADITION

Some of you might recall that back when so many were waxing euphoric about the Iraqi elections, I warned that holding an election and establishing a democratic government were not the same thing. Two months after those elections, the elected officials have not been able to agree on a new government. They probably will sooner or later, but it will be a tenuous agreement. Part of their difficulty is that we imposed on this interim-government process a requirement for a two-thirds vote to get almost anything approved in the new assembly. If the American Congress had to pass everything with a two-thirds vote, we would have fewer laws than we do now. Come to think of it, that's not a bad idea.

A different culture
But the problem in Iraq, and in many other places, is that the culture is not democratic in the Western sense of the word. Our philosophy of individual rights began centuries ago in what we today call the United Kingdom. Long before it was united and long before America was even discovered by Europeans, the roots of individual liberty were planted in the cold soil of England and Scotland. There it developed through centuries of conflict.

Before the shroud of political correctness descended, it used to be easy to say that our form of free society is Anglo-Saxon. It is distinguished from other forms of democracy chiefly on this basis. In the Anglo-Saxon societies, individual rights trump group rights; in other places, including continental Europe, group rights trump the individual.
Thus, you can see a great similarity among the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The culture of these English-speaking countries differs from the cultures of Asia, Africa, the Middle East and even of continental Europe. The British Empire tried to make "Englishmen" of other people, and they failed. Now we are trying to make "Americans" out of other people, and we, too, will fail.

What makes those evangelicals of democracy think they can establish a government in Baghdad that is strong enough to rule the country but that won't also be strong enough to perpetuate itself in power? What makes them think they can create an army and internal security force strong enough to secure the country but that won't also be strong enough to seize power?
Our own Army has always been strong enough to seize control of the government. What has protected us from military coups is that our soldiers have a tradition of loyalty to the Constitution that would trump loyalty and obedience to a rogue officer. No such tradition of constitutional loyalty is present in the Middle East today. The tradition there is loyalty to a strong leader, a cultural trait shared with the Hispanic world.

Of course, traditions can change, including ours. In a quiz given by a professor, a pretty high percentage of Marines answered yes to the question of whether they would fire on their fellow citizens if so ordered. That's why I've always opposed the all-volunteer Army. A volunteer force is by definition a mercenary force, and the longer it remains, the more it will tend to take on the characteristics of mercenaries - including loyalty to no one.

No disrespect to the Iraqis is intended
I mean no disrespect to the Iraqis. I wish them well. I just think that they will eventually choose security and jobs over endless debate. On a recent rancorous day, the first thing the Iraqi Assembly did was kick out the journalists. A free press is not part of their tradition. Even if, however, they do succeed at democracy, I don't think it's worth 1,500 American lives, 11,000 wounded and $200 billion.

The president should worry more about nurturing democracy in our country, where it is being slowly eroded. He should concern himself with rebuilding our infrastructure. He should address the soaring costs of education and health care for Americans.
Unfortunately, Mr. Bush seems to be under the erroneous belief that whatever office the American people elected him to, God has appointed him president of the world. He should spread that notion on his wife's flower beds back home.

The British National Party has found a new recruiting base: White teenagers. The British Psychological Society, has revealed that British teens are dismissive of England's cultural changes as a result of massive Muslim immigration, and are supporting the BNP.
At the annual conference of the British Psychological Society, researchers demonstrated that teenagers as young as 13 are rallying around the positive pro-White message of the BNP. The study was performed on 1,500 students between the ages of 13 and 24 who attend secondary schools and universities.

Terrorist attacks and the Iraq war top the reasons why British children are fed up with their country's multiracialist agenda and Jewish inspired foreign policy. And these views are not isolated to specific geographical regions in England, but are held by students from rural areas and cities throughout the European country. 43% of the students responding stated that their views of Muslims and Islamic culture had worsened since the attacks on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon, and have further deteriorated since the Iraq War.

A spokeswoman from the Muslim Association of Britain decried the growing White nationalism and expressed a view eerily similar to the Anti-Defamation League. "It is extremely saddening when children are already adopting attitudes like this towards Muslims. Children get these views from television and the media and the conversations they hear from adults. It is incredibly distressing that when they should be at an age where they rise above race and colour and creed, children are already having these negative emotions."

FREEDOM OF SPEECH UNDER ATTACK

Although I believe that our Christian nations have the right to remain Christian and that Europeans must have the right to stop the massive immigration that is destroying our heritage and freedoms, I have a respect for other religious viewpoints than my own Christian faith. I certainly don't want Europe and America to become Muslim any more than Arabs would want their own nations to become Christian. Furthermore, I think we all must work to end this conflict between Islam and the West, a conflict exacerbated by the Zionists who seek to use it for their own strategic advantage on behalf of Israel.

It is not Muslims who now dominate our media and government policies, it is Jewish supremacists. It is not even Muslims who have changed our immigration policies that have caused this conflict in the first place, but Jewish organisations which have relentlessly worked to break down our borders while supporting Israel as a Jewish state. In fact, we Europeans have much in common with the Palestinians in that we are both occupied by the same powers. It is not just the banks of Jordan River that are occupied by Zionists, it is also the banks of the Potomac and the Thames (and Melbourne's Yarra…ed)!

The question of bringing in Chinese workers to do manual work in Ballarat factories is certainly a vexed one. I can readily understand the displeasure expressed by worker spokespersons (The Courier March 14). However, your editorial, same issue trots out a cliché that is never spelt out - "Ballarat needs to increase its ethnic diversity." Why? Isn't it diverse enough?
Harmony and cohesion are not enhanced by diversity but by homogeneity. Japan is the classic example of a nation that lives in harmony. Diversity has been actively discouraged during the decades that intrinsically white nations have been doing the opposite."

The price of zinc tablets has gone from $4 to $52. Echinacea has risen from $14 to $153. Campaigners in Australia fear this means that nutritional supplements will be beyond the reach of all but a few.
Eve warns us this move is "the biggest betrayal and threat to health freedom in Australian history" and explains what all citizens can do about it before July 2005 when the regulation of Australia's supplements is scheduled be placed into the hands of the drug industry and outside the control of Australians and their Parliament.
