AUSTRALIA'S CULTURAL VALUES ARE…???

John Howard has insisted migrants to this country must conform to 'Australian values'. Consequently, there is much talk-back radio time and media space presently devoted to the topic of just what are these Australian 'values'. In fact, the discussions have even raised the question as to what is this 'thing' called 'culture'? So far, most of what I have heard and read has been a lot of 'gumph'.

Shouldn't we be talking about civilised values rather than 'Australian' values? There are quite a number of Australians exhibiting personal 'values' not far removed from the most primitive and degenerate.

So, what would be considered a civilised nation?
Dr. John Baker in his study of races and ethnicity, "Race," pp.507-508, suggests that in societies ordinarily regarded as civilised, the majority of the people comply with most of the 21 requirements he has listed - not necessarily in order of priority.

The list - briefly:
The people cover their external genital organs and greater part of the trunk with clothes in public places; they keep the body clean and take care to dispose of waste products.
They do not practise severe mutilation or deformation of the body, except for medical reasons.
There is knowledge of building in brick or stone if the necessary materials are available. They live in towns linked by roads; cultivate food plants; domesticate animals; have knowledge of the use of metals; use wheels.
Exchange property by use of money, order their society by a system of laws, which are enforced so that they ordinarily go about their various concerns in times of peace without danger of attack or arbitrary arrest. They permit accused persons to defend themselves and to call witnesses.
They do not practice cannibalism; their religious systems include ethical elements and are not purely or grossly superstitious.
They use a script to communicate ideas, have some facility in the abstract use of numbers. A calendar is in use, arrangements are made for instruction of young in intellectual subjects, some appreciation of fine arts and knowledge and understanding are valued as ends in themselves.

The industrialised nations of the world would be considered 'civilised' by most of Dr. Baker's touchstones, and yet we are now witnessing the most barbaric acts and uncivilised behaviour in many of them.
I would think a civilised people have developed an inner standard of moral values and societal rules. The real 'cement' of any civilised society is trust, honesty, loyalty, decency, etc., and it is in the application of these and many other personal values that a civilised people interact with one another. It is a standard of personal conduct that no legal system could ever guarantee. In day-to-day affairs, civilised people 'treat their neighbours as themselves' - truthfully, honestly, decently, etc.

Civilised people have come to grasp: their relationships with their fellow man/woman/child are two-way affairs - and function best on mutual love (socially and morally) and co-operation. That is why men were told to 'love their wives as themselves."
There is no comfort, enjoyment, respect, etc., they would like for themselves that they wouldn't want for their wives, their women, also. It is the philosophy of the two-way street - summed up in that directive: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Not all peoples have yet learned that important lesson.

University intellectuals… the mere mention of them makes me reach for… well once I would have put "revolver" in that spot as the old maxim went, but today the only people with revolvers are the police and crime gangs! So let us proceed without a metaphor.

Richard Nile "In Praise of Free Radicals," The Australian Literary Review 6/9/06 p.3) waxes lyric about the coming joys that a gaggle of retiring intellectuals will bring to Australian cultural life. The turn of phrase is that "we may be on the cusp of a golden era of Australian intellectual life." The rest of the article sings the praises of the politically correct who will continue to do in retirement, what they did when they were in, largely university paid employment. Even in terms of literature, how many of these ageing 'champions' have tackled the great issues of human existence? How many of our intellectuals are even tackling the great issues of our times?

Merv Bendle ("Don't Mention the Terror," The Australian 6/9/06 p.25) observes that Australian intellectuals have written little on the terrorism issue, at least in their professional journals, and when they do, the issue is examined through a simplistic trinity of "class, sex, race," and the claim that the real terrorist is the West. Excuse me while I yawn - I heard it all before at university in the 1960s. So-called "intellectual life" is like pop-music: the same songs are reworked and rolled out, over and over again.

Dear egg-headed politically correct nerdies: do us a favour and get an original idea.

THE FEMINIST STINGRAY

The tragic death of naturalist and showman extraordinary Steve Irwin ("The Crocodile Hunter") has saddened most Australians.
As Irwin was a man's man, a rugged "top end" type who represented old-style Australian values, I expected the feminist stingrays would arise to give Australian manhood another sting with their verbal barbs. My predictions were correct.

Ageing ex-Australian feminist Germaine Greer ("Greer Sticks in a Barb of Her Own," The Australian 6/9/06, p.4) said:
"The animal world has finally taken its revenge on Irwin. The creatures Irwin handled for the cameras were all in distress and could do little more than lash out; Irwin taught a whole generation of kids in shorts seven sizes too small" to "shout in the ears of animals with hearing 10 times more acute than theirs."And: "Every creature he brandished at the camera was in distress."

So, poor old Steve was the naturalist equivalent of a "wife beater". In other words, Steve, lived and died, a man (recall the feminist logic that "all men are rapists") something which has no place in the crazy world of radical feminism.

Your readers could find the article by Jaya Prakash "Malaysian - Not Asian," (The Advertiser Review 2/9/06, p.6) of interest.
While Australians are continually force-fed the idea of the 'successes' of multiculturalism and mulitracialism, Prakash makes the point that Malaysia, Asia's most moderate Muslim nation, is experiencing "Rising racial and religious intolerance" and "spreading fear among minorities."

He wrote: "Since the departure of the British in 1957, the burning issue of Malay self-esteem has been such that the community never hesitated, election after election, to vote in the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO).
Together with political representations from the Chinese and Indians, UMNO in latter years formed an omnibus political grouping called Barissan Socialis, or National Front, to show the world a supposed visage of racial unity, reflective of today's truly Malaysian, truly Asian slogan. Under this pact, UMNO also took unto itself the custodianship of safeguarding Malay rights and privileges to ensure they do not become easy prey to the economically dominant Chinese."
Who remembers July 1969 when bands of Malays attacked and killed hundreds of Chinese because they feared their economic might?

The author singles out the policy of "bumiputra", "sons of the soil" which is a type of affirmative action policy for native Malays. What the author, a cosmopolitan, does not note, is that the policy is a form of protection against the industrious Chinese. It cuts both ways.
And it also goes to show that in the long term, multicultural, multiracial societies simply do not work and will implode.

Gargantuan deception:

Violent conflict will dominate the headlines, but cultural and economic struggles will be steadier and ultimately more decisive.
The de facto role of the US armed forces will be to keep the world safe for our economy and open to our cultural assault. To those ends, we will do a fair amount of killing."

THE UNREHEARSED EVENTS IN HISTORY

None of us know just what the future holds, but one thing we were told, "sufficient the day the evil thereof" in which case, we all have a part to play in coming against the evil we do know is being wrought.
Even the One Worlders' plans are subject to what C.H. Douglas referred to as "the unrehearsed events in history".

We cannot say we have not been warned. It is what we determine to do about it that is going to make the difference. All round the world people are waking up to the horror of the plans and many are actively coming against the planners.

One task that can be done by all:

VICTORIAN ELECTIONS - ACTIONISTS WANTED

The "Mountain Men of the Victorian Highlands" are mounting a campaign for the coming Victorian State elections on the issues of Public and Private Land Rights, which should be of great interest to our Victorian actionists.
They write that their "Push for the Bush" is a fight for rural Victoria. Actionists will remember the Douglas 'rule of thumb'- first find the people who have a problem or issue - and help them get what they want.

But let the Mountain Men speak for themselves:
"Fighting for public land access, sorting out DSE ("the neighbours from hell"), alpine grazing, better fire management, supplying Victoria's timber needs, private land rights, fishing, horse riding and especially exposing the hypocrisy and danger of the Greens' party policies.
In the lead up to the State Election, the Mountain Cattlemen are bringing together of concerned groups and individuals with a view to some positive action."

They continue:
"As the MCAV predicted, the cancelling of the Alpine grazing leases has given the Bracks Government and the Greens encouragement to go further and tighten access and regulations. Unless a line is drawn at this election, your enjoyment of public land will be further diminished; all grazing will be banned, and there will be ever increasing rules and regulations governing private and public land.
The MCAV immediate concern is that the Greens will be in a key position in the Upper House and they have recently pledged to remove all grazing on public land. Firewood, bee keepers, timber harvesting, prospecting, 4WD access, native vegetation on farms are now all in the Greens' sights and the Bracks Government will listen to them in exchange for preferences. The Bracks Government does not care what it does, as long as it wins the election.

You need to be aware that currently the Government has just announced a draft framework of indicators for sustainable forest management in Victoria and mentions cattle and other uses - an enquiry is now underway. Obviously everything is now in its sights."
This campaign is not aligned to any political party or candidate - it is concentrating on the issues and will circulate information from all sources and opinions that are relevant to what we stand for.

They also request:

They conclude their message with: We are going to take the advice of Banjo Paterson's Old Man,

Dear Mr. Downer,
I enclose for your interest a copy of my open letter to the Hon. Philip Ruddock, Attorney-General, dated 8 August, 2006 on the subject of Terrorism in Palestine and the proposed banning of literature.
I also take the opportunity of enclosing copy of an article by Phillip Adams found in The Weekend Australian Magazine, August 5-6, 2006, in which you have been given prominent mention. I would expect others may already have drawn your attention to this article which appears to be a combination of fact and fantasy; so much so that the uninformed reader may have some difficulty in discerning which is fact and what is fantasy. However, it does much to enlighten us as to the fundamental character of the author, who, it would seem is on side with the "we" people of the introductory quotation above

In reading the quotation at the beginning of my letter, and comparing it with recent activity of Israeli armed forces in Gaza and Lebanon, combined with statements of Israeli leaders and supporters, some might be excused in thinking it a statement made only recently, that is, if they neglected to take notice of the date it was made; for when observing this, the recent Zionist lie that the destructive invasion of Lebanon was of defensive nature becomes brightly illuminated.

On further examination we find their policy of terror combined with a strong conviction they "have the right to kill without any guilt" is an ancient belief firmly ingrained within the psyche of the Zionist criminal terrorist, and advocated in ancient Hebrew scripture. Perhaps this may also explain the oft repeated complaint, and much lauded historical problem, of why Jewish people who have been applying this policy down through the centuries, have had something more than a minor difficulty in finding relaxed, loving, and contented neighbours.

It is very difficult to discover from Phillip Adams' article just what he himself believes, for he seems far more concerned with ridicule than concrete and constructive statements. However, it is quite clear he supports Zionist expansionist programmes, whilst being very scornful of you speaking at a meeting in the past. Why should Adams complain? Why should you, Alexander Downer, need an excuse 'for sharing a League o/ Rights lectern"? Does it mean Mr. Phillip Adams believes your freedom to speak should be somewhat curtailed? Or, may I presume you have upset Mr. Adams on some odd occasion?

However, Phillip Adams mentions the Spanish Inquisition and the Holocaust, both of which require some, albeit brief, comment. The Encyclopaedia Britannica, 15th Edition, mentions the Inquisition's "first grand inquisitor in Spain" Tomas de Torquemada, who being a Marrano, was of Jewish descent.
The Britannica records that Torquemada was responsible for burning an estimated 2,000 people at the stake, whom I understand were mainly Christians whose spiritual beliefs differed from the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. The Britannica does not record they were Jews. However, regarding the Spanish Jews the Encyclopaedia says Torquemada: "persuaded the rulers to expel all Jews who refused to be baptized, causing about 170, 000 Jewish subjects to leave Spain," thus forcing a large body of the Jewish nation to move elsewhere in Europe.

On the subject of "The Holocaust", the Britannica 14th Edition is virtually silent, as are the wartime historical works of Winston Churchill.
Not until the 15th Edition commencing in 1974 does some mention of "The Holocaust" creep into the Britannica.

After World War II, adverse publicity of German Concentration Camps focused on those camps under the control of American, British and French occupational forces in the West. During the 1960s this focus was transferred to concentration camps like Auschwitz and Birkenau, east of the Iron Curtain where it was alleged Extermination Gas Chambers existed, and the ability to investigate forensically was conveniently restricted!
If "The Holocaust" was a clear cut historical incident, as Zionists insist we should believe without questioning, why did the Britannica delay mention of it? And why did Churchill fail to record it?

Most importantly: Why are some historians now being given long gaol sentences in Europe for questioning the numbers dead, and methods of execution? Having been trained in my youth by a science teacher who respected the scientific method of discovery I support the view of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, when, being recently interviewed by Der Spiegel, he said:-

"We are of the opinion that, if an historical occurrence conforms to the truth, this truth will be revealed all the more clearly if there is more research into it and more discussion about it." I do not fault this statement, for Ahmadinejad is in agreement with the basic concept of Francis Bacon's Great Instauration, which is the very foundation of our modern scientific and engineering progress…
