MULTIRACIAL SOCIETIES: THE REAL STORY

According to Dr. Andrew Leigh, an economist in the Research School of Social Sciences at Australian National University, there is a "downside of difference" (The Australian "Higher Education," 31/1/07 p.24). Leigh has done research which confirms research by US social theorist Robert Putnam, that trust is lowering in ethnically diverse neighbourhoods.
As Leigh puts it: "Residents of multiracial neighbourhoods are more likely to agree "you can't be too careful in dealing with most Australians!"

Leigh goes on to note: "In particular, neighbourhoods where many languages are spoken tend to have lower levels of trust, suggesting that the main issue may be whether people can communicate effectively with those living nearby. The effect of diversity operates on immigrants and locals alike. In more linguistically diverse suburbs, both foreign born and Australian-born respondents are less inclined to trust those around them." Research from across the world confirms the negative relationship between trust and ethnic diversity.

However Leigh does not conclude that a fatal mistake has been made in constructing multiracial societies in the first place. He repeats the mantra that high immigration will continue to benefit Australia, even though "English will not be the native language of most new Australian immigrants," and "higher diversity will lead to lower levels of interpersonal trust." Policy makers must "maintain the high levels of immigration while mitigating the impact on our social fabric." Like Putnam, he hopes that race and ethnicity will become less important over time. Paul Frijters and Tony Beatton have published a reply to Leigh ("Double Standard Over Diversity" The Australian 14/2/07 p.27) in the context of a discussion of intellectual conformity, getting "sucked into simply stating things that go along with what is commonly believed but are not really self-evident at all."

For example, they rightly take economist Andrew Leigh to task for making various platitudes about the advantages of ethnic diversity. Typical of the multiculturalists, Leigh says "our restaurants would be bland imitations of themselves without the flavours brought by successive waves of Italian, Thai and Vietnamese immigrants."

The "argument from cooking" is stupid beyond belief, but it is chant of the new class who, loaded with our money from taxes, just love their wining and dining. Frijters and Beatton point out that this argument is just based on gut feeling for a "century ago in England there might well have been 100 intricate ways to cook a parsnip; today you can't buy one in most shops."
Beyond that though, the "argument from cooking" is just logically flawed. One does not need waves of migrants to set up restaurants: just a few cooks or even a few cook books. Indeed, it is precisely the waves of migrants which changes tastes so the argument is logically circular.

Yet a learned academic feels compelled to roll out such nonsense. Likewise Leigh cannot face the logical consequences of his own research. Increasing diversity acts as a social acid, corroding the social capital of trust. Pushed to the limit, which is what the chattering class intend to do, multiracial/multicultural societies simply break down.

This conclusion cannot even be contemplated by academics because like the "argument from cooking" their culture cannot consider it. To do so would be to reveal the emperor, is indeed, naked!

CALL TO STOP MUSLIM IMMIGRANTS

We note the NSW election campaign became 'entangled' in a debate over Muslim immigration after the leader of the Christian Democratic Party Rev. Fred Nile called for an immediate halt to Islamic immigrants.

Whereas, NSW Premier Morris Iemma, whose southwestern Sydney seat of Lakemba has a large Muslim population, didn't agree with Mr Nile's comments but said immigration was a federal issue. "Those that are prepared to abide by our laws, our values, work hard and pass the criteria are welcome regardless of who they are, where they come from, (or) the colour of their skin," he said.

Saturday 24th March is state election day in NSW. We will know by this time next week what the voters think.

THE LEAGUE IS BEING VINDICATED

The multicultural/multiracial issue: We have no sense of smugness when we remind our readers the League of Rights is being proved right on the stand it has taken over the last twenty or so years.

Battered and bruised we might be, having borne the brunt of various vicious attacks over those years by do-gooders, people with vested interests, politicians and the media , but we took our stand against the unrealistic immigration/multicultural policies which all major parties pushed.

At last one long-serving politician has had the guts to tackle the issue during an election campaign. Events such as the Cronulla riots point to the 'chickens now coming home to roost'! Just one question Rev. Nile: where have you been all these years?

HERE COMES THE BEAST! SLAY IT WITH 'NAZI' ARGUMENT?

The new smart card, which, it is claimed will give access to government services, includes a biometric photograph and microchip containing personal data. The card is to replace the Medicare Card. The Howard government denies that it is a new version of Bob Hawke's failed Australia Card, and of course they are right: IT'S WORSE!

Hawke's ID card has nothing on this! One of the few MPs making a token protest against the card is Bronwyn Bishop who said that the card failed the "Nazi test". The card, to be effective, is an ID card, whether it is called that or not.

Editor's comment:
When are people going to ask themselves why it is that governments are encroaching further and further into our everyday lives and why more and more Australians are enmeshed in government 'services' (read interferences).
Physically, this nation still produces more annually than the population could possibly consume in one year, and yet, the only way more and more Australians can gain access to this production is through government controlled 'services' (interferences).

We are becoming a nation of underlings, controlled by 'over-lords', but it is being carried out because people don't understand the systems, the mechanisms, working against them. They have no clear way forward in order to resist the takeover.

There are very few alive today who remember what a free (not in bondage to another) enterprise (a bold undertaking) society is like. Just like the older characters in "Animal Farm" - their memories are vague as to what happened beforehand.

Most Australians alive today have nothing to compare their current experiences with. They don't know what life was like 60 years ago. They don't know what a free society is.

THE HOUSING INDUSTRY AND GOVERNMENTS

Another Stock Market fall today, led by the situation in the U.S., where there are close to a million mortgagee foreclosures. We're a bit behind in Australia. But the news here is not so good.

On the 13th March 2GB radio personality Alan Jones spoke of the financially perilous situation in which mortgagees are now finding themselves. Stretching to their financial limit they borrowed heavily to purchase homes and are now finding it increasingly difficult to keep up their mortgage repayments.

Jones reported:
"There were some silly statistics yesterday on the housing industry across Australia. At the end of the day, the problem that exists with housing derives ironically from interest rates which are lower than they have been in some people's living memory. Some of us remember interest rates at 17, 19, 20 per cent. Now with interest rates in recent times at 6, 7 and 8 per cent the tendency has been to go for the big lick.
"Young people (are) stretching themselves to the limit. It means that any minor adjustment to interest rates on a large amount borrowed and you struggle. As a result we see the figures by the ratings agency Moody's Investors Service telling us the number of families unable to pay their mortgages on time is rising.

Some will lose their homes:
"There's even very sad news that what are called weaker borrowers will lose their homes. And in south-western Sydney an increase in mortgagee sales. Interest rates went up three times in the last year. And that's put the squeeze on many who were already borrowing to their limit. Debt repayments are now taking up a larger proportion of household income than when interest rates were at 17 per cent in 1989.

"Household debt has doubled in the past five years. Frighteningly, 960 billion. 85 per cent of household debt is for housing. But our credit card debt at the end of last year was off the planet, 39 billion. There was talk yesterday that you need 145,000 dollars a year to afford an average home in Sydney. And the Opposition Treasury spokesman Wayne Swan presumably was wanting to blame the Howard Government."

Labor Government charges are to blame - Jones:
"Well the reason housing is ridiculously dear in Sydney is because of Government charges imposed by the Government of Mr Swan's own persuasion, a Labor Government up for re-election in ten days' time.
Someone buying a 500,000 dollar home will pay over 5,000 dollars in developer stamp duty, over 19,000 in purchaser stamp duty, over a thousand dollars in stamp duty on the mortgage, a State infrastructure levy of over 17,000 and a local government infrastructure levy of about 26,000.
In other words, instead of the infrastructure associated with the home; water, electricity, roads, parks and recreation areas being provided by the Government, the buyer at the time pays for the lot. In other words, how many people in your street. And you're buying a new home.

"Well if you're buying it in Sydney, apart from the stamp duty and the fee for registering the mortgage, you'll pay a State Government infrastructure levy of many thousands, up to 20,000 and a local government infrastructure levy of up to 30,000 dollars. So basically on a 500,000 dollar home you're paying anything up to 150,000 dollars in State Government charges and taxes. The issue would be simple if all the buyer had to worry about was the interest rate.

"But what he knows, and no one is prepared to do anything about it, is that more than 25 per cent of the price he's paying is because State Governments are ripping off both the buyer and the developer. And that's something Mr Swan won't be telling you."

Mr. Jones, you are being very coy about what you are not telling your radio public!

'CREDIT' POWERS - MOST VOTERS SCARCELY KNOW ABOUT

And neither will Mr. Jones be telling his listeners WHY GOVERNMENTS OF ALL PERSUASIONS are bleeding us dry and bringing us more and more under their control! But he does give a clue by referring to MOODY'S INVESTORS SERVICE.

Journalists Hans-Peter Martin & Harald Schumann in "The Global Trap", Chapter: 'The Faustian Pact' p.65, explained who and what Moody's Investors Service is:

"Entry into the realm of world finance (and all governments want to 'be in it'…ed) demands a high and inescapable price, in the shape of submission to an interest-rate hierarchy and to powers of which most voters have scarcely any idea.

"The most influential of the discreet agencies operating in the money markets is located in a massive eleven-story building at 99 Church Street in New York… 300 highly paid analysts work for Moody's Investors Service, the world's largest and the most in demand. Above the doorway, a huge 12-square-metre relief covered in gold leaf explains the company's philosophy and interests:

"Commercial credit is the invention of the modern world, and only the enlightened and best-governed nations are entitled to it. Credit is the life's breath of the free system in modern trade. It has contributed more than a thousand times as much to the wealth of nations than all the mines of the world."

"Beyond this gilded creed lies a domain of power and secrecy that has no peer. Nowhere else in the world are the secrets of so many governments and companies so well guarded…"

WHAT IS THIS 'CREDIT' SYSTEM AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

People find it hard to grasp how this system works. For them 'credit' is what they get from their banking system when they borrow 'money'. They still believe bankers lend only the money they have in their vaults, or safes.

They cannot 'get their mind around' the truth that when a bank lends a customer 'money' and the customer spends it into circulation that 'money' loaned to them was created out of nothing. It did not exist before that moment.

Some people are waking up to the bankers' scams and are using their own real credit through the alternate 'money' systems now flourishing in various parts of the world.
But most people are still mesmerised by this mysterious thing called 'money' and the bankers' swindle.

So few understand the bankers' swindle is firmly sanctioned by the laws of the land, that is, sanctioned by the legal system firmly established by governments.

Mr. Alan Jones is being very coy about this matter. He is not giving his listeners the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

My question to Mr. Jones is:
Your double-barrelled shot at Labor wouldn't have anything to do with the looming New South Wales elections and the later federal elections and the fact that the federal Liberals are lagging behind in the polls - would it? - Or would it? I say, "a double-barrelled pox on both their parties!"

THE CLIMATE CHANGE DEBATE

In the coming March edition of *The New Times Survey, we have included a paper by Professor Timothy Ball who brings up the issue of the "political and social Climate Change environment". The UK's Sunday Telegraph 11/3/07 registers the fact the issue is heating up.

Scientists threatened for 'climate denial'
Scientists who questioned mankind's impact on climate change have received death threats and claim to have been shunned by the scientific community. They say the debate on global warming has been "hijacked" by a powerful alliance of politicians, scientists and environmentalists who have stifled all questioning about the true environmental impact of carbon dioxide emissions.

Timothy Ball, a former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg in Canada, has received five deaths threats by email since raising concerns about the degree to which man was affecting climate change.

Governments have pumped billions into careers and institutes:
One of the emails warned that, if he continued to speak out, he would not live to see further global warming. "Western governments have pumped billions of dollars into careers and institutes and they feel threatened," said the professor. "I can tolerate being called a sceptic because all scientists should be sceptics, but then they started calling us deniers, with all the connotations of the Holocaust. That is an obscenity. It has got really nasty and personal."

Climate Change - new religion:
Professor Ball appeared in "The Great Global Warming Swindle, "a Channel 4 documentary in which several scientists claimed the theory of man-made global warming had become a "religion", forcing alternative explanations to be ignored.
Richard Lindzen, the professor of Atmospheric Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology - who also appeared on the documentary - recently claimed: "Scientists who dissent from the alarmism have seen their funds disappear, their work derided, and themselves labelled as industry stooges.
"Consequently, lies about climate change gain credence even when they fly in the face of the science."

Dr Myles Allen, from Oxford University, agreed. He said: "The Green movement has hijacked the issue of climate change. It is ludicrous to suggest the only way to deal with the problem is to start micro managing everyone, which is what environmentalists seem to want to do."

Nigel Calder, a former editor of New Scientist, said: "Governments are trying to achieve unanimity by stifling any scientist who disagrees. Einstein could not have got funding under the present system."

A MESSAGE FROM BLOODY ZIMBABWE

The media reports of the police arrests and brutality towards the Zimbabwe leader of the opposition and his followers is sketchy so that the reader doesn't get a clear picture of what is happening in that troubled land.
The following report from a 'friend' was received a day before the rally. The last news we heard was that the leader is still in intensive care - after a judge had him sent to hospital for treatment.

"The build up to the holding of tomorrow's rally is horrendous with police/cio doing house to house searches for anyone known or believed to be MDC and threatening people about attending the rally tomorrow. MDC activists are removed from their homes and taken to Epworth satellite police station which has now become the "torture centre" for these brave people. The methods of torture are beating all over the body with baton sticks, falanga (beating the feet), pulling their teeth so they become loose, tying hands and feet together and hanging them up like that while they beat them. As I receive many of them at a medical facility in the city, I see it with my own eyes and hear their stories first hand.

What must be remembered is that severe torture, including the falanga, has long-term effects, not just psychologically but also physically. The generally unknown statistics are those torture victims who die a year or two later as a result of the torture. What the state is doing now is tantamount to another form of Genocide - "systematically dealing with the out group".

But no-one likes to recognise it as such. "It is too strong a word" I was told by the EU representative for Human Rights two years ago when I presented them with a photographic record of five years of HR's abuses in Zimbabwe. And warned them that much worse was still to come! If "that word" is used, then it means the UN and others are obliged to do something.

We know, as does the rest of the world, that the UN only acts "too late, with too little". Ruwanda is the most horrific and recent example of this. The indications are here for us to see, the utterances by the misruling party make no bones about how they intend to deal with the opposition, and the armed forces (which includes the militia) have explicit instructions. I hope I am mistaken, but I do feel that bloodshed is not far off.

The people of Zimbabwe are to a great extent destitute, very angry and desperate - this means that they have reached the stage of being prepared to die for change. They have nothing left to lose but their lives. We are sitting on a time bomb."

According to the business magazine, there are now 946 billionaires in the world and among them are Jewish people from the USA, Brazil, Spain, United Kingdom and Israel.

Richest Jew is casino mogul Sheldon Adelson. The 73-year-old who owns The Venetian in Las Vegas is worth $26.5bn and is the sixth wealthiest person on the planet.
Coming in at number 11 is Oracle boss Larry Ellison with a worth of $21.5bn.
Chelsea Football Club owner and Russian oil magnate Roman Abramovitch, has a worth of $18.7bn.
Google co-founder Sergey Brin, aged 33 is one of the youngest billionaires with a worth of $16.6bn.
Michael Dell, founder of the computer giant that bears his name is at number 30 on the Forbes list with a worth of $15.8bn.
Just below him at 31 is Microsoft chief executive Steven Ballmer with a worth of $15bn.

ENTREPRENEURS LAUNCH AIRLINE FOR FAILED ASYLUM-SEEKERS

The number of deportees from Europe is now so vast that two entrepreneurs have launched an airline exclusively for failed asylum-seekers. Asylum Airlines should be flying in three months complete with padded rooms for troublemakers.

The flights will sweep Europe, picking up failed asylum-seekers and returning them to their home nations around Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Austrian deportation lawyer Hermann Heller and Austrian aviation consultant Heinz Berger said the new airline was in talks with several governments.
It was being promoted as a cost-efficient option for governments compared with arrangements on commercial flights. Britain reportedly spent $776,900 recently to deport just 15 Iraqis.

The flights will include guards, medical staff and a human rights group official - but there are no plans for in-flight entertainment or a frequent-flyer scheme. As yet?
