HOW THE DUTCH DEFEATED FLOURIDATION

Dr. Hans Moolenburgh led a successful campaign to rid his country of fluoridation as described by Dan Montgomery in a review of his book Fluoride: The Freedom to Fight (Queenslanders Against Fluoridation, Far North Queensland Branch). He organised several prayer groups to pray for the defeat of fluoridation in a similar manner as people prayed for the defeat of the Nazis in the Second World War.

The Doctor never let people forget that fluoridation is a totalitarian idea, his explanation for the unpopularity of fluoridation in the Netherlands was that the people in those countries who had been occupied by the Nazis were quicker to see the true nature of a totalitarian programme like fluoridation. The 'resistance groups against fluoridation were much like the 'resistance to the Nazis. Fluoridation was like having a policeman knock on your door every morning and ask if you had taken your fluoride pill yet (pp.96-97).

Dr. Moolenburgh met with scientists in the USA in 1973 at an anti-fluoridation conference. He realized then why the anti-fluoridation campaigns in the USA had not been as effective as they would have wished. 'These men had in their hands material that was pure gold in the fluoridation battle and yet where resistance was concerned they still had something to learn: they had no clear idea of how to fight a real guerrilla war. I suddenly realized for the first time that my American and British friends lacked an essential experience. They had not been under occupation by a totalitarian regime. I became aware that in the Netherlands we were using our war experiences to thwart the enemy and perhaps we could be of some service to those who twenty-eight years previously had liberated us '. (p.102)

How could it be that nations like Britain and the USA could allow a totalitarian measure like mandatory fluoridation to become to become law? They had been free of tyranny so long they did not recognize the danger. There were enough people left in the Netherlands who remembered the Nazi tyranny that they could see what was happening and knew what to do about it.

Dr. Moolenburgh says on p.126: 'That is why I have written this book for you: not to tell you how we did it in the first place, but to increase your awareness. Freedom is a blessing that is acquired with great difficulty and lost with great ease. Fluoridation is one of the ways of taking freedom away. There are many other ways and most of them are infiltrating the free democracies of our day, but when you have learned to recognize one you will recognize them all. The same pattern emerges time and time again, it is the pattern of a small arrogant elite posing as a public benefactor, using innocent fellow travellers as useful idiots and laughing to scorn the timid attempts to resist '. There is a lesson here for those who wish to learn it.

SURE LET THEM ALL STAY

The call went out from the University of New South Wales deputy vice-chancellor to give foreign higher degree research students preferential residency treatment (The Australian 25 June 2008 p.22). Domestic higher degree numbers are declining 'due to competition from employment.
This is a symbol of our plight, where the local must be marginalised and the foreign worshipped. Why not increase the number of local degrees by better conditions and opportunities? Because that is not the logic of globalization, which is to take the shortest economic route to the path of national destruction.

A flood of migrants (and their resultant high birth rates) has made Australia the fastest-growing nation in the developed world (The Australian 25 June 2008 p.8). Where are the Greenies to criticise this enormous impact upon our sensitive environments?
Prisoners of the ghost of Karl Marx, population growth and immigration are the great taboos for them. The Greenies would rather see environments crash than do anything politically incorrect like make a mouse-like squeak about immigration.

MIGRANT SURGE TO AUSTRALIA AT RECORD LEVELS

The Australian 25/9/08 reports: The push to lure skilled workers to Australia and the increase in foreign students have raised migration into the country to a record high. Australian Bureau of Statistics figures reveal that net overseas migration to Australia boosted the population by almost 200,000 in the year to March, outstripping births in contributing to population growth. And with the Federal Government adding to the migration intake in this year's budget, demographers predict the numbers will swell.

The population of Australia reached 21.3 million at the end of March, and 59% of that growth was due to net overseas migration that is, the difference between overseas arrivals and departures. Peter McDonald, head of demographics at the Australian National University, said much of the rise was due to long-term temporary migration. This mainly comprises foreign students, temporary skilled workers who are here on 457 visas, and people on working holidays.

Monash University demographer Bob Birrell said migration was contributing more to population growth than births, and the trend was yet to peak. "There's also a significant delay in the return of those temporary migrants," he said. "We're getting a surge of people coming here, but it takes some time before they finish their stay and return home."

Dr Birrell said the increasing population was adding pressure to the housing market, which was already under strain because of a reduction in the construction of units and houses. It was also increasing demand for hospital services and public transport and adding cars on roads.

A spokesman for Immigration and Citizenship Minister Chris Evans said the figures reflected the migration program levels set by the previous government. He said this also reflected the strong growth in the number of foreign students and temporary skilled migrant workers coming to Australia. In 2007-08, more than 278,000 student visas and 110,570 457 visas were granted.

Acting state Treasurer Tim Holding said Victoria had recorded its highest population growth in 37 years. This year's budget included $4.4 billion in new infrastructure investment, including for hospitals, schools and roads.

HH PRINCE MICHAEL ANDREEVICH ROMANOV (1920-2008)

HH Prince Michael Andreevich Romanov of Russia, who lived in Sydney, passed away on Sunday, 21 September 2008. Prince Michael served in the Royal Navy in the Second World War, including a period in Australia with the Fleet Air Arm. On the conclusion of the war he settled permanently in Australia and became an aviation engineer.

A member of the Russian Imperial Family, and Vice President of the Romanov Family Association, Prince Michael was born on the 15th of July 1920 in Versailles. The second child and eldest son of Prince Andrei Alexandrovich of Russia and Donna Elisabetha Ruffo, he was the grandson of Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich and Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna of Russia and a great nephew of Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia. Prince Michael lived with his parents and his grandmother Grand Duchess Xenia in exile at Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle and later at Wilderness House.

Russia finally reconciled...
He was the Royal protector and Sovereign Grand Prior of the Orthodox Order of Knights Hospitaller of St. John of Jerusalem, formerly under the protection of his father Prince Andrei and uncle Prince Vasili. Earlier this year, Prince Michael presided at the Investiture of new Knights and Dames into the Order.

On 28 September 2006, in scenes recalling the splendour of Imperial Russia, Prince Michael was an honoured guest at the interment of the Danish born mother of the last Tsar of Russia, Her Imperial Majesty, The Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna, in the sombre Fortress of St Peter and St. Paul in the great imperial city of Peter the Great, St. Petersburg.

This was in many ways a final reconciliation of Russia to the terrible wrongs visited upon the Romanov Family and the Russian people for the evils of Boshevism. Their promise of paradise on earth had, as Fyodor Dostoevsky long ago predicted, resulted in a time of madness. And it was a madness portrayed not as the monstrosity it was, but as something beautiful.

The Prince would have been deeply moved when, just as they did when she had first came to Russia as a young Princess, cannon from the Fortress boomed out in a solemn imperial salute in honour of the Empress as she made her final journey home to her beloved Russia.

Tributes pour in...
Prince Michael was a dignified and reserved man, with a strong sense of duty, as evidenced by his enlistment in the Royal Navy. Tributes are pouring in from those who are mourning a great man. He will be greatly missed.

Mr Bryan Stertern-Gill, the Deputy Bailiff Prior of the OOSJ, Chairman of the Australian Monarchist League (Victoria) and ACM supporter, said:
"HH Prince Michael will be very, very sadly missed. He was our Royal Protector and Sovereign Grand Prior, a committed Orthodox Christian and Constitutional Monarchist. He was a person of great strength, support and love.
Personally, he was like a mentor to me and a very close and personal family friend. Every time he visited Melbourne he stayed with us and we considered him part of our family. His loss will be greatly felt by all who knew him."

George Bougias ,OOSJ, International Convenor of ACM and member of the AML said:
"HH Prince Michael was one of those rare individuals that reminded us it is possible and indeed necessary to live the great ideals in the modern age. He was a man of deep faith, tradition and honour but also gracious and joyful.
He was always willing to spend time with people and help those in need. His love for both Australia and Russia was immense. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known him and will miss him greatly. OOSJ members and all Monarchists will always remember him, through both our prayers and actions."

FORMER DIPLOMAT SAYS WEST HAS 'FANTASY VIEW OF CHINA

Canadians have fallen for a Chinese government "charm offensive," says a former Canadian diplomat and specialist on Chinese mafia "Triad" gangs and Communist China's government-directed espionage in Canada.
"I think politicians have to take off rose-coloured glasses and realize what China is all about," says Brian McAdam. "The Canadian government thinks it has to pander to China's needs and to align its foreign policy towards China. This is foolhardy."

Mr. McAdam had a 30-year career in Canada's diplomatic service with assignments in Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and the Far East. His career ended soon after he discovered a lucrative visa-for-sale scam operating inside Canada's consulate in Hong Kong.
He spent several years warning the Canadian government that Canada was admitting Chinese criminals and government spies. Immigration and External Affairs (now Foreign Affairs and International Trade) ignored his consular reports.

Ostracized and in ill-health, Mr. McAdam took early retirement in 1993, at age 51. However, he later instigated a joint CSIS-RCMP investigation, Project Sidewinder, which, in its 1997 report, confirmed his findings.
"This document," said the Sidewinder Report preface, "does not present theories but indicators of a multifaceted threat to Canada's national security based on concrete facts drawn from the databanks of the two agencies involved (RCMP and CSIS), classified reports from allied agencies and various open sources."
A few days after the Sidewinder team submitted its report, CSIS ordered all copies destroyed and the investigation disbanded. CSIS justified the report's destruction as "conspiracy theories -- rumour and innuendo."

Mr. McAdam has now become an international consultant, expert and author on Triads, Chinese Intelligence Services, their partnership and activities in Canada and worldwide.
He says that five myths perpetuate the West's "fantasy" view of China.

Myth 1: Trade with China benefits Canada
"How many times have you heard that China is now Canada's second largest trading partner?" asks Mr. McAdam. "This means that China is our second-largest source of imports after the U.S. -- not that our trade with China has improved."
He notes that China now exports more than four times as much to Canada ($38.3 billion) as we are selling to them ($9.3 billion). Statistics Canada says the Canadian trade deficit with China expanded from $3.9 billion in 1997 to $26.8 billion in 2006.
"China is really using Canada almost as a colony," says Mr. McAdam, "getting raw materials from us and selling them back to us in finished products ranging from furniture and clothes to plastics and high-tech equipment. "Canada doesn't need China," he says. "China needs Canada."

Myth 2: China has 1.3 billion customers
"It's a mirage -- there are one billion peasants who cannot afford a bottle of Coke," Mr. McAdam says. The real customer base is 300,000 -- people with privileged government positions. He says that the West's widespread trade deficits with China spring from low wages and prisoner slave labour, counterfeit products and pirated intellectual property.
While a few Canadian companies make money in China, he says, the fantasy of broad-based beneficial trade has been "created by people to justify" a close relationship with China.

Myth 3: China is becoming a democratic nation
"Trade has not brought democracy to China and never will," says Mr. McAdam. Nor will it bring China free speech, free media, free worship or free demonstrations -- graphically confirmed in Tiananmen Square in 1989 and this year in Tibet.
He quotes Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, who said last year "democracy is probably still 100 years away."

Myth 4: China has improved human rights
With Olympic visitors gone home, Mr. McAdam predicts, China "will crack down" on its citizens. Mr. McAdam laments that "nobody is really taking China to task over its human rights violations."
Even in Canada, Chinese 'migr 's and students are "intimidated by the Chinese government, which leads them to think that they, or their families back home, will be harmed -- unless they spy." This includes some targeted students, scientists, businessmen, foreign delegations and public servants, he says.
Most of the Chinese media in Canada are controlled by the Communist government or its proxies, says Mr. McAdam. "The information that the Chinese population is getting here in Canada -- they might as well live in Communist China."

Myth 5: China is benign
"China is engaged in a stunning espionage effort, buying ... its way towards high-tech superpower status as fast as it can," says Mr. McAdam. "It wants to have the world's best military."
Ten months ago, the U.S. government concluded, in a 350-page analysis titled 2007 Report to Congress of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission:
"China is supplementing the technologies that its defence industry obtains through commercial transfers and direct production partnerships with an aggressive and large-scale industrial campaign. Chinese espionage activities in the United States are so extensive that they comprise the single greatest risk to the security of American technologies."
(The Sidewinder Report, incidentally, had reached a similar conclusion in Canada:
"China remains one of the greatest ongoing threats to Canada's national security and Canadian industry. There is no longer any doubt that the ChIS [Chinese Intelligence Services] have been able to gain influence in important sectors of the Canadian economy, including education, real estate, high technology, security and many others. In turn, it [influence] gave them access to economic, political and some military intelligence of Canada.")
In 2005, during question period, Stephen Harper, then-Conservative leader of the Opposition, criticized the Liberal government for not taking the Chinese espionage threat seriously. "Today the former head of the CSIS Asia desk (Michel Juneau-Katsuya) confirmed reports from defectors that close to 1,000 Chinese government agent spies have infiltrated Canada,' said Mr. Harper.

He quoted Mr. Juneau-Katsuya's estimate that Chinese spies cost Canada $1 billion each month through industrial espionage. Mr. McAdam's conclusion today:
"China has dangled billions of dollars of trade, seducing many countries into ignoring human rights issues in China and allowing China to acquire their industrial and military secrets.
"Canada's foreign policy in a nutshell, is 'Shhh, don't upset China because it might affect trade.' "We need politicians, the media, and others to tell the truth to Canadians and not continue the fantasies. And Canadians must let the government know that a comprehensive China policy based upon facts is long overdue."

WHAT A JOKE WHAT A FARCE! FATE OF STATION 'S WATER QUOTA

'Toorale water to Queensland 25/09/2008 The Land by Phil Thomson

Tens of millions of megalitres of Warrego River water supposedly saved for the environment by the controversial purchase of Bourke 's Toorale Station has no chance of making it into the Murray-Darling river system. It will soon be pumped out of the river system before it even reaches Bourke diverted on to farms north of the border in Queensland.

Water licences granting the right to take 23,300Ml a year from the Warrego, which have been dormant for years, are about to be activated by their Queensland owners. Other properties on the river where water licences are 'sleeping have the potential to extract another 20,000Ml a year.
Two weeks ago almost $24 million was spent by the NSW and federal governments to buy the 91,000ha grazing and cotton property, 'Toorale ', so more water could flow down the ailing Murray-Darling system.

According to environmentalists and the Federal Government, huge amounts of the floodplain water are now free to flow through western NSW and into South Australia. They say between 20 gigalitres in a normal year and up to 90GI following high rainfall will be available after the removal of banks and other diversionary structures used to channel water from Toorale 's flooded grazing plains to farm storages. But Liberal Senator, Bill Heffernan, said water would spill onto grazing country even after the banks were removed because the area was a natural floodplain.

And there would be less flow south of Bourke coming from the Warrego River as agricultural production north of the struggling northern NSW town increased. Five properties south of Cunnamulla, Qld, have licences for a total of 23,300Ml from the river and are expected to reach full extraction levels soon.

Almost 50,000ha owned by Bill and Glenda Fanning, collectively called 'Mirage Plains ', has sold for about $20 million to Australian buyers backed by UK investors, according to a source close to the sale. Several thousand head of cattle grazing 'Mirage Plains are about to be replaced with water intensive, organic cereal crops once the sale is finalised in mid-October.

Nearby residents said these would be the first crops grown on the southern Queensland country. One Bourke-based observer, grazier Bill Ridge, 'Tuon ', said federal Water Minister, Penny Wong, might now 'cast her eyes north '.
'An amount of $24 million has just materialised to buy a good, well-working property but at the end of the day there will be no more water because of development in Queensland. It just makes my blood boil.

LETTER IN THE PRESS: THEY STILL WANT THE SNOWY HYDRO

Below is an extract of the closing address given by Barry Jones at the conference called "Imagining the Real Life on a Greenhouse Earth" held at the ANU in June.

"The report to the European Union by Javier Solano and Benita Ferrero-Waldner identifies seven threats to Europe (and each will have a comparable impact on Australia): mass migration by climate refugees; political destabilization of regions most affected by climate change; radicalization of politics and populations; intensified north-south conflict because of the perceived injustice of the causes and effects of global warming; famines and escalation in food prices; wars over natural resources, especially reduction of arable land; and reduction of up to 30 percent in potable water.

In addition to resource competition over water, oil, wilderness and forests, there will be deep divisions between the pursuit of short term individual resource security, and an approach based on cooperation for the longer term. The complexity of tackling climate change, the lack of appropriate global instruments, apart from the failure of political will, may encourage the rise of over-simple solutions, including fundamentalism, tribalism, communal violence and a revolt against reason."

The above and Snowy Hydro's continued campaign to privatise Snowy Hydro and thus control of the Snowy Schemes water resource - has caused me to reflect on the situation much closer to home. You may recall the front page article of the Summit Sun, Thursday, July 27, 2006 - Exclusive interview with Snowy Hydro CEO and Managing Director, Terry Charlton, the 2nd and 3rd last paragraphs read -
"As for the future, Mr Charlton revealed that he had not given up [on privatisation]. I've not given up thinking about it. I just don't have the answer. Listing is the best solution and I would love to see that revisited," he said."

Although all three shareholding governments claim they have no intention of selling Snowy Hydro, they none the less allow Snowy Hydro to continue using Bluegrass Consulting; whose claimed expertise on their internet site is "Shaping public opinion, influencing the environments in which critical decisions are made and mobilising grassroots support." I understand that Snowy Hydro are conducting a further 'Community Survey'.

In response to the Submission of NSW Treasury to the Inquiry into the continued public ownership of Snowy Hydro Ltd questions were asked of NSW Treasury.

Question No. 41 reads as follows
"What projections has the government made about the cost of water in the next 20 to 50 years? Do these projections take into account current scientific weather predictions and the predicted future reduction in rainfall and snowfall over the Snowy Mountains?"
The answer given reads:
"The value of water is set by market forces and its ability to produce a return on investment. Government has not made predictions about the cost of water."

Question 31 reads:
"How does the Government justify the statement; "Snowy Hydro neither owns or controls the water of the Snowy Scheme" (NSW govt. submission p10) when Snowy Hydro controls the collection, storage and timing of release of the water?"
Answer [reads]-
"Snowy Hydro Ltd is licensed to capture, divert, store and release the water to generate hydro-electricity. These functions are controlled through the Snowy Water Licence which is administered by the NSW Government." The Snowy Hydro 75 Year Water Licence as presently drafted IS inadequate to protect the Scheme's water resource in the public interest. The licence is not due for comprehensive review until 2012 and until that review, at least, is completed all talk of a sale or lease should cease.

The general public also needs to know that the legislation passed in 2006, to protect Snowy Hydro being sold in the future (in NSW it can be sold to the Commonwealth without debate) without going before the Parliaments does not mention a leasing option and this is therefore a loop-hole that can be exploited.
