Thought for the Week: I think that what is of prime importance to us today is to identify, and correct, the problems which can be attributed to the existing financial system. Douglas emphasized that ownership of a central or national bank is not the real issue - it is the policy of such an institution. Here in Canada the Government has titular "ownership" of the Bank of Canada and technically the Minister of Finance can override decisions made by the Governor of the Bank. Yet this is simply not done because of a standing observance that the Bank should not be subject to political interference. (There was one instance where the then Governor simply threatened to resign rather than accept Ministerial orders.) Strangely, you cannot find the Bank of Canada listed under the Government of Canada and enquiries as to why this should be so are met by suggestions that the status of the Bank is more that of a Crown Corporation. The present Governor is, according to general and accepted report, a former employee of Goldman-Sachs and can be expected to be a rigid adherent of established orthodox banking and financial policy--and I have seen no evidence whatsoever that would suggest otherwise. So much for Government ownership of the Bank whose policy remains steadfastly orthodox. With regard to the Federal Reserve, there is obviously much intermingling of the Federal Government and the Banking institutions. The real question is: Who actually controls the policy of the financial system within the United States of America or any other nation for that matter? It is the policy of the financial system which bears upon the fortunes of the citizens of the nation. - - Wallace Klinck, Canada, May 2009 "The Electoral Campaign: We have in Belfast, and in fact, all over the world, a mechanism known as the Electoral Campaign which, with the proper spirit behind it, can make the Government your servants. We have provided you with the mechanism, you must supply the spirit. The principles involved in it have been tried in many places and have never failed. The soldiers' bonus in the United States was forced through Congress against the bitter opposition of all the financial interests by exactly the methods we are asking you to employ. When Mr. Roosevelt was accused of yielding to pressure from financial interests he replied with, in my opinion, complete justice, 'It is my business to yield to pressure.' You, the individuals whose interests are always at stake in matters of policy, who are killed, wounded, maimed, poisoned in every war, who were starved and broken in every industrial depression, who work long hours under, in some cases, unpleasant conditions for objects from which you do not benefit - you were the people who never apply any effective and continuous pressure to the government. I sometimes think that the better intentioned amongst the ruling oligarchy propound their calculated insults from time to time in order to sting you into awareness of the situation. Let us send them a message from Northern Ireland to assure them that they have succeeded." - - Clifford Hugh Douglas 'Dictatorship by Taxation Belfast 1936 |
WHY FINANCIAL CAPITALISM IS IMMORALby James Reed
James mentions Major Douglas A+B theorem, which holds that there is a gap between what people produced and what people could afford to buy. Credit needed to be created to bridge the gap, although orthodox economists who held to velocity theories of money circulation rejected the idea of a gap and the financial inability to clear produced goods. James excellent point is that the US Federal Reserve is presently 'creating credit on a scale that would make a social crediter look like a tightwad '. The standard object to social credit schemes is that they are inflationary, resulting in too much money chasing too few goods. But the US Federal Reserve claims that they aim to stop deflation, under-consumption leading to a crash of prices, stifling of production and unemployment. Social crediters can say the same! Missing from the debate is the crucial fact that the creation of credit needs to be tied closely to physically productive activity and meaningful investment in the productive infrastructure of society. The recent Rudd cheque of $900 will be spent on goods largely made in China, and according to one line of thought (discussed in my article 'China Sunset ') will only serve to worsen the financial crisis by putting more money in the pockets of Chinese communists. The social credit solution goes far beyond what James suggests. It involves the creation of a financial, economic and ecologically sustainable national economy and a complete rejection of the centralised monopolies of global financial capitalism. Global financial capitalism is immoral because, lacking sustainability, it ultimately threatens to destroy us all. |
THE THEATRE OF THE ABSURDby James Reed On the madness trail, how 's this one: murderers, rapists and drug dealers are set to get $900 each from Big Kev 09 's economic rescue package. The felons would have had to have worked on the 'outside in the 2007/08 tax year and have met some other conditions. Although prisoners can only keep $120 in their gaol accounts they are free to give the money to criminal associates! (The Advertiser, 18/3/09, p.4) But shed a tear for a Pakistan-born transsexual sex worker and former UN translator (!) who may be deported from Australia for fraudulently obtaining a passport. Lawyers are seeking a protection visa as the transsexual will allegedly be persecuted for 'her transsexuality and homosexuality in Pakistan (The Advertiser, 14/3/09, p.49). Nature is not to be outdone, scientists have recently discovered a new fish species with Dracula-like fangs in Burma, which has been given the Latin name Danionelle Dracula. Its features resemble the financial elite often featured in the money pages of our newspapers. |
SWINES OF GLOBALISM : DISEASE AND HUMAN NATUREby Brian Simpson The speed with which the virus has spread around the world has led to some conspiracy theorists proposing that the virus is a genetically engineered act of bio terrorism. Now I know that this line makes good copy and it could be true, but I think that it underestimates the deadliness of the microbiological world. These viruses are constantly mixing genetic material with other viruses. There are high mutation rates in the DNA and RNA of such viruses. Today we have millions of people crammed into megacities. International travel, the blood of globalism, spreads people across the world daily. The spread of swine flu is thus no mystery. It is only a matter of time before the world experiences another 1918 style 'Spanish flu (which came from China, not Spain). The lack of hygiene in Asian farms and the close connection between people and animals will ensure that there will be a ready supply of viruses preparing for the next pandemic. Baxter Avian /Swine Flu:
Is there any hard evidence of laboratory origins?
What seems suspicious to me is the hybrid origin of the viral fragments found in H1N1 influenza.
According to reports in the mainstream media (which has no reason to lie about this particular detail), this strain of influenza contains viral code fragments from: Vaccines as Biological Weapons?

DOES COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT REVEAL OBAMA NOT A U.S. CITIZEN? 'In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama 's qualifications for the presidency, the group 'Americans for Freedom of Information has released copies of President Obama 's college transcripts from Occidental College. Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.
The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama 's legitimacy and qualification to serve as president. When reached for comment in London, where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue. Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama 's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. HER MAJESTY 'S KNIGHTS'When you bleat on about equality, you destroy real honour. A month ago, the Governor General of New Zealand would not have been eligible for knighthood, because the former Prime Minister of New Zealand "deeply detests social distinction and snobbery". Needless to say, The Monarchist deeply detests the enemies of honour and distinction wherever they reside - so thankfully Helen Clark has gone to the U.N. where she belongs, and New Zealand has been restored of her gentle senses and cavalier tastes. Therefore, the journal observed with Constitutional Monarchists everywhere as The Queen knighted the Governor-General of New Zealand, The Hon. Sir Anand Satyanand: 'Rise Sir Anand, and join the ancient fellowship of knights!
REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS’ FOREIGN KNIGHTHOODS From David Flint’s Opinion Column: Sir David Smith has reminded me of the example of Gough Whitlam, the former Prime Minister. And that reminded me of a Bastille Day ceremony in Sydney a few years ago, where the French Consul-General conferred a knighthood on an Australian citizen. Sir David reminds me that Gough seemed ready to accept every foreign honour he could lay his hands on. He holds eight foreign honours from sundry republican presidents and a foreign monarch. Yet he spurned appointment to The Queen’s Privy Council (which would have given him the prefix Rt. Hon.) and set a damnable precedent for all of his successors, save one. Malcolm Fraser accepted appointment to the Privy Council and recommended it for Governors-General Sir John Kerr, Sir Zelman Cowen and Sir Ninian Stephen, as well as for senior ministers the Rt. Hon. Doug Anthony and the Rt. Hon Reg Withers. Incidentally, let us not forget that while Mr. Fraser and Mr Anthony turned their backs on the Crown in 1999 and jumped on the republican bandwagon. Mr Withers distinguished himself by strongly affirming his allegiance to the Crown not only as a delegate to the 1998 Constitutional Convention but also in his superb advocacy for the No case during the 1999 referendum campaign. The question remains: |
THE GUARDIAN MISSES THE POINTfrom David Flint 's Opinion Column A major part of the problem in France is that the nation is taught to honour the Revolution. The history of the revolution as taught is a series of myths, including the continuing libel of The Queen, Marie Antoinette. ( 'Marie-Antoinette - justice at last? ) The revolution was a tragedy and a disaster, and led to the Reign of Terror, years of dictatorship and wars which continued until well into the next century, resulting in death and destruction perhaps worse than the First World War. By falsely praising the Revolution, the people of France are trained to believe that problems can best be solved by going into the streets, and by putting their faith in theorists who offer revolutionary solutions. The editor of The Guardian should re-examine his own paper 's ill-considered campaign against the Crown. What he should be doing is raising an understanding of the most important beneficial event in the last few centuries, the emergence of an early version of the constitutional monarchy as a result of the Glorious Revolution of 1688. This of course was hardly a revolution, merely part of that long evolutionary development of the Westminster system, the world 's most successful form of governance and the only one to be successfully exported. (emphasis added 'ed) Dr Hugh Goodacre of the University of Westminster comments
'First, monarchy has for a long period of history been regarded with disgust in France; their monarchs were executed. Here, in contrast, the very question of republicanism is regarded as a fringe issue, or even a sign of eccentricity. 'Second, France suffered fascist occupation and a puppet fascist government in the second world war; the memory of the armed resistance, largely under communist leadership, retains respect in public opinion, and even the most compliant trade unions have to label themselves communist in order to retain the support of their members. Here in Britain, communism is barely heard of. 'Third, even those political parties in France with rightwing social agendas, such as the Gaullists, proudly describe themselves as revolutionaries, and their national anthem calls upon all citizens to take up arms against the armed forces of the monarchy, whereas here, the national anthem ... need I go on? Dr Goodacre 's assessment is of course correct. The editor of The Guardian should stop copying Australia 's newspapers of the nineties. They went too far in using the news to advance their republican campaign, which some editors now acknowledge. He should reconsider his campaign to throw out what brings stability to the United Kingdom. |
THE GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS : FAULT OF CHINA AND INDIA?by Brian Simpson
An article by Parag-Khanna in the Guardian Weekly at the time (4/4/08 p.17) also argued that China was following a model of empire and world hegemony. And Australia since the time of Whitlam has continued on the route of becoming a Chinese colony. The present fellow PM Rudd, with dyed black hair, could be mistaken by the myopic as a version of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, adding on a year or two. No wonder poor James Reed has such high blood pressure and a dependency on 'the odd glass of red '. |
