ANGER ERUPTS OVER HILLS ZONE PROPOSED WATER CONTROLS

The ABC “Anger erupts over Hills zone water plan” covered this recent public meeting about government proposals for controls in the Hills region water plan. “Locals jeered officials at a public meeting (user submitted: James Allan). Hundreds of people have jeered government officials at a public meeting at Strathalbyn over a plan to limit water use in the western Mount Lofty Ranges. The catchment supplies water to about 75 per cent of South Australia's population”.

Water controls come under the United Nations ‘Agenda 21’ Plan
It is the name of a policy document first unveiled at the United Nations' Earth Summit in 1992. Implementation of the treaty is through a policy called Sustainable Development. Sustainable Development is no less than a ruling principle through which decisions for all aspects of our lives are determined through public/private partnerships between government (at all levels) and private institutions in our communities.

They provide guidelines to determine business decisions; property use; medical care; education curriculum; foreign policy; economics; taxes; labour policy; career decisions; housing; building material; farming policy; and much more.

SOCIAL CREDIT IN THE NEW DARK AGE

Dr. Geoffrey Dobbs’ 1979 lecture The Douglas Legacy was an address to the Melbourne Douglas Centenary Dinner. Although containing interesting reflections about the history of Social Credit, the address is important, as I see it, for the recognition that we have entered a “New Dark Age”.

He says “We had plenty of warning, even forty years, that if we did not defeat the policy of the Money Power within a few years we should enter another Dark Age, and it is quite evident that we have now entered it! Dr. Dobbs points to the decline of Christian culture at the time, but as I have been arguing for over half a decade here, 1979 is like a golden age compared to the decadence and degeneracy that parades as normality today. Nevertheless, even in these dark times there is hope: in fact there is hope from social credit especially because the times are dark:

“A strong torch is a useful tool in the dusk, which precedes dawn. It loses its value when the sun rises. But it is very pleasant to bask in the sunshine of a balmy summer’s day, living as it were upon the moral capital of our Christian ancestors; but it is a good deal more challenging and exciting to have to build up that moral capital, that social credit, again. The strong torch which Douglas has given us, is a lot more useful when the shades of night are setting in.”

We must do as St. Paul recommended, fight the good fight and ensure that we pass the torch of Faith. This dark age, like the last, will pass. Our oppressors, like all oppressors, will die, their prisons will crumble to the ground and the winds blow their ashes away.  

MONEY AND THE GAMES FINANCIERS PLAY

The Social Crediter is a magazine of hope which has insightful articles championing economic freedom. The Winter 2010 edition (northern hemisphere) deals with the land question or the relationship between economy and ecology. An article by Thomas Berry, “The Sacred Universe” goes to the heart of the matter about the need for harmony between human life and nature. As the editor summarises: “This will require the development of an entirely new mind-set through which people will engage with each other, forming local think-tanks rooted in locality and community”. This “small is beautiful” localism is what environmentalism used to be, and should be able to be, but “Green” parties have been hijacked by the left and political correctness.

The Landlord’s Game: The economy/ecology question features the work of leading social crediter Dr Frances Hutchinson. In “The Land Question” she approaches the issue through a discussion of the game “The Landlord’s Game, a precursor of Monopoly”. Monopoly is about the zero-sum, Darwinian world or ruthless capitalism, while The Landlord’s Game has three phases and only the first phase operates within the confines of conventional neo-classical economics. Phases 2 and 3 introduce a world beyond naked greed and re-introduce us to community and co-operation. The world needs to move beyond a phase 1 economics to a phase 2 and 3 economics to an economics of sustainability.

Dr Hutchinson points out that social crediter C.H. Douglas was also aware of the need for ecological thinking about the natural world and in The Social Crediter, December 5, 1942, p.97 said this:
“One of the first considerations of the [traditional] system was to maintain, in the real, not the financial sense, the capital value of the land and to do this required extraordinarily detailed knowledge of local conditions and custom. The desperate conditions of much English arable land, which has been “farmed out” by tenant farmers not properly supervised and having little anxiety as to their ability to get another of the hundreds of farms on offer, is a direct result of the sabotage of this administrative system.

“Now, we are hypnotised by the propaganda of the international chemical combines into the belief that soil analysis, chemical fertilisers, and oil-driven farm machinery are far superior and more “scientific” than the intimate farming of the old order. Not only is there not a particle of genuine evidence for this, but there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Never has there been so much “professional” farming and never have agricultural products been so unsatisfactory in quality. Bread which has to be re-enforced with drugs; fruit which looks attractive and is both tasteless and lacking in all its old essential virtues (the Phoebe strawberry, the staple export of Hampshire strawberry beds, looks large and delicious and tastes like wet cotton wool); fabrics which are showy but neither warm nor durable; chemical beer…progress!”Douglas’ thinking was far in advance of our present crop of “Greens”.

Dr Hutchinson also concludes that “Humanity is currently engrossed in a vast game of Monopoly, living parasitically off the Earth’s resources like an infant totally oblivious to anything but its own present demands”. (p.78)

Project that on, and an ecological/socio-economic collapse seems inevitable as our civilisation goes the way of other civilisations in the past.
She suggests that the works of Henry George, Fritz Schumacher, C.H. Douglas and the Distributists will be of help in the struggle to come. She also recognises that local and individual food self-reliance through domestic gardens is another step towards freedom, something the Transition Town Movement supports to encourage local resilience. And of course, it makes sense to stockpile food as well to help our neighbours when “the cash tills fail to operate and the supermarket shelves stand empty”.

BBC News: Libyan rebels 'sign oil export deal with Qatar': Libyan rebels say they have signed an oil contract with Qatar to export oil from rebel-held territory. "We are producing about 100,000 to 130,000 barrels a day, we can easily up that to about 300,000 a day," rebel spokesman Ali Tarhouni told the Associated Press. He said that shipments of crude would start in "less than a week". The rebels say their main concern is obtaining insurance for any tankers taking oil from Libya.

"FDL" - - This is an appropriately acerbic post from Matt Yglesias that can serve as a catch-up on events in Libya for those who missed it yesterday: “Today’s New York Times features Mark Mazzetti and Eric Schmitt reporting that America’s no boots on the ground humanitarian intervention in Libya features ground-based CIA agents (presumably wearing tennis shoes) co-ordinating with Libyan rebels so as to better be able to assist them with tactical air support. Chris Adams for McClatchy also has a story out headlined “Libyan rebel leader spent much of past 20 years in suburban Virginia”, which is presumably because he really liked the Tyson’s Corner mall and has nothing to do with the location of the CIA or the Pentagon.

Reuters also had it that Obama had signed a secret order to provide the Libyan rebels with weapons, but that presumably meant humanitarian weapons rather than the kind you use to kill enemy soldiers and resolve post-revolutionary political disputes with. The administration, however, denies that this decision has been made. Meanwhile, the Gaddafist state continues to disintegrate as foreign minister Moussa Koussa defected to the United Kingdom but Gaddafi’s troops made advances on the ground…” More here...

WE NOW KNOW WHY GADDAFI TO BE 'THROWN TO THE WOLVES'
Reports are coming in from around the world as to why Gaddafi has fallen out of favour with the ruling elite. Under the heading of “Regime Change Libya: Privatization of their Central Bank and the Theft of their Nationalized Oil Profits” what Scott Creighton reported, 29 March, 2011, doesn’t surprise OT in the least: He writes:

“There is no question anymore as to why the Obama administration is attempting to impose a change of the regime of Libya. On March 17th I wrote about the invasion of Libya being about two main objectives: privatizing the national oil company and the state-owned central banking system. I pointed out that the US and British inserted language in the UN resolution that allowed them to freeze the accounts of the nationalized oil company as well as the central bank of Libya. Well, before they have even won their coup, the CIA backed pro-west opposition has taken the time to announce that they have formed a new national oil company and central bank.
Obviously they have allowed our neo-liberal economic hit-men to write-up the legal documentation for this action and I am sure it hands over control to multinationals outside Libya. This is why so many globalist apologists and neo-liberals have been running around the last week claiming that the real government in Libya is the Transitional National Council.

It has always been about gaining control of the central banking system in Libya. Oil is just a profitable side issue like every other state asset that is waiting in Libya to be privatized and sold off to multinational corporations like Bechtel, GE, and Goldman Sachs. Oil is important and it is certainly a target but it isn’t the driving force behind these global wars for profit. Banking is.

Once the Coalition Provisional Authority took over in Iraq, the second thing they did, after signing a law banning the Baathists and disbanding the military, was to sign over the state-owned central banking system to privately held banking interests, bringing Iraq online with the web of private central banks. That took place the very first day of the CPA’s control of Iraq. After the U.S. military came in and took over Iraq, the CPA quickly began issuing many binding orders privatizing Iraq’s economy and opening it up to foreign investment. If you control the issuance of money in a country and can turn huge profits while enslaving the population with the debt that it produces, then everything, everything including the oil and everything else, belongs to you. "You control the debt, you control everything. This is the very nature of banking. To make us all, whether it is a nation or an individual, slaves to debt." (The International)

That is why control of the central bank was far more important than the oil in Iraq or in Libya. "The rebels in Libya are in the middle of a life or death civil war and Moammar Gadhafi is still in power and yet somehow the Libyan rebels have had enough time to establish a new Central Bank of Libya and form a new national oil company…
According to Bloomberg, the Transitional National Council has "designated the Central Bank of Benghazi as a monetary authority competent in monetary policies in Libya and the appointment of a governor to the Central Bank of Libya, with a temporary headquarters in Benghazi."

Apparently someone felt that it was very important to get pesky matters such as control of the banks and control of the money supply out of the way even before a new government is formed." (The Economic Collapse)

EURO-US WAR ON LIBYA: OFFICIAL LIES & MISCONCEPTIONS OF CRITICS

How can we tell truth from lies in amongst all the ‘reports’ flying through cyberspace around the world? The following is an excerpt of an article by the above authors which ties in with what has been happening for at least the last hundred years.

Assess carefully for yourselves: “The unsubstantiated Euro-US claim of “genocide” amplified by the mass media and parroted by “left” spokespersons is contradicted by the daily reports of single and double digit deaths and injuries, resulting from urban violence on both sides, as control of cities and towns shifts between the two sides. Truth is the first casualty of war, and especially of civil war. Both sides have resorted to monstrous fabrications of victories, casualties, monsters and victims. Demons and angels aside, this conflict began as a civil war between two sets of Libyan elites: An established paternalistic, now burgeoning neo-liberal, autocracy with substantial popular backing versus a western imperialist financed and trained elite, backed by an amorphous group of regional, tribal and clerical chiefs, monarchists and neo-liberal professionals devoid of democratic and nationalist credentials – and lacking broad-based mass support. Conclusion: If not to prevent genocide, grab the oil or promote democracy (via Patriot missiles), what then is the driving force behind the Euro-US imperial intervention?

A clue is in the selectivity of Western military intervention
In Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, Qatar and Oman ruling autocrats, allied with and backed by Euro-US imperial states go about arresting, torturing and murdering unarmed urban protestors with total impunity. In Egypt and Tunisia, the US is backing a conservative junta of self-appointed civil-military elites in order to block the profound democratic and nationalist transformation of society demanded by the protesters. The ‘junta’ aims to push through neo-liberal economic “reforms” through carefully-vetted pro-Western ‘elected’ officials. While liberal critics may accuse the West of “hypocrisy” and “double standards” in bombing Gaddafi but not the Gulf butchers, in reality the imperial rulers consistently apply the same standards in each region: They defend strategic autocratic client regimes, which have allowed imperial states to build strategic air force and naval bases, run regional intelligence operations and set up logistical platforms for their ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as their future planned conflict with Iran. They attack Gaddafi’s Libya precisely because Gaddafi had refused to actively contribute to Western military operations in Africa and the Middle East.

The key point is that while Libya allows the biggest US-European multi-nationals to plunder its oil wealth, it did not become a strategic geo-political-military asset of the empire. As we have written in many previous essays the driving force of US empire-building is military - and not economic. This is why billions of dollars of Western economic interests and contracts had been sacrificed in the setting up of sanctions against Iraq and Iran – with the costly result that the invasion and occupation of Iraq shut down most oil exploitation for over a decade.

The Washington-led assault on Libya, with the majority of air sorties and missiles strikes being carried out by the Obama regime, is part of a more general counter-attack in response to the most recent Arab popular pro-democracy movements. The West is backing the suppression of these pro-democracy movements throughout the Gulf; it finances the pro-imperial, pro-Israel junta in Egypt and it is intervening in Tunisia to ensure that any new regime is “correctly aligned”. It supports a despotic regime in Algeria as well as Israel’s daily assaults on Gaza. In line with this policy, the West backs the uprising of ex-Gaddafites and right-wing monarchists, confident that the ‘liberated’ Libya will once again provide military bases for the US-European military empire-builders.”

WOMEN, BIOLOGY AND DESTINY

Things are not going so well for the radical environmentalist position of feminism, which holds that biology is not destiny.
First, there is evidence that the hormone oxytocin promotes human ethnocentrism (C.K.W. De Dreu (et.al), “Oxytocin Promotes Human Ethnocentrism”, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science:

Second, research by University of California LA anthropologist Don Fessler, indicates that when pregnant, women become more xenophobic and distrustful of strangers.

Third, research by Professor Bill von Hippel from the University of Queensland, has suggested that when ovulating a rugged 'John Wayne' type male is desired but that after that a nurturing metro-man type is wanted. The macho man “may be good at inseminating you, but they're not too good at taking care of you”, the professor said (The Advertiser, February 19, 201, p.33). Which all goes to show that the battle of the sexes is as alive and well as ever.  

SURE, BLOW UP THE HUMANITIES TOBY

Toby Miller, “Dilemma of Blowing Up the Humanities”, The Australian, February 16, 2011, p.25 is a satirical piece where he claims to be doing the last paint job on a book called Blow Up the Humanities and where he seeks advice on how best to “lay waste to the system”. Well, for a start “the humanities in the US are dying, and quickly” with recessions dulling student interest.
Enrolments are crashing. So what Miller hopes for is a rival of the humanities, a reaching back to Aristotle and Euripides. But he concludes: should blowing up the humanities be incendiary or inflationary?

Is it too much to hope for in our multiculturalised mess for a return to the classics in the modern degree machine university. It is better for real knowledge to flourish outside the university, in organisations like ours, and allow the universities to slowly rot. The dark age is already here and it is now our sacred task to preserve the best of Western civilisation.  

RACKETS, RUDDOCK AND BOAT KIDDIES

Talk about asylum seeker rackets! According to former immigration minister Phillip Ruddock”, The Australian, February 21, 2011, p.7), children being sent as unaccompanied minors as asylum seekers so that they, with the aid of good hearted, friendly neighbourhood immigration lawyers, can argue that under the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, they have a right to bring out their parents and entire extended family!

Talk about cold-hearted manipulation of our UN inspired laws! The answer, of course, is for Australia to pull out of the UN and tear up all such “mew morality”, anti-white treaties and conventions.  

THE THANOS HYPOTHESIS

It is commonly supposed that the Enemy seeks our destruction as a means to an end, and that end is power, world domination, if you like. But why seek power? Here one appeals to facts about human psychology, the need for the control of resources, status anxiety and the like.
Be that as it may, a competing hypothesis, very worthy of comments and criticism, is the Thanos hypothesis, named after the god of death. The Enemy is seen as seeking ultimate destruction of us as part of a nihilist goal of the complete destruction of life and value.

The Thanos hypothesis, which sees the Enemy as criminally insane and collectively psychotic, better explains the self-destructive course which They have put the world onto. The Enemy does not care about the destruction of life, biodiversity and nature in the name of growth and development. The fruits of growth and development soon bore them and they spit the rich food of modernity from their mouths. Enjoyment is nothing; only the endless repetition of capitalism exists for them. This cannot be, other than a philosophy of death and the negation of the life force.  

WOLF PACK: SHOWING AT A THEATRE NEAR YOU

The remote Siberian village of Verkhoyansk usually has days of about minus 40 degrees Celsius in winter. Now the villagers face the threat from a giant pack of 400 starving wolves who are attacking animals. Lack of food has led to less rabbits, so the wolves are as hungry as…wolves. Nobody has been eaten yet but…

The image is striking: a darkened landscape, vicious, starving wolves encircling… it reminds me of Australian politics. But I would expect the real wolves to be less vicious than the wolfpack of politicians. And, of course, less disloyal.

IMMIGRATION NATION: REALLY OFF THE RAILS

Already it is forgotten as the system prepares for the next assault on Anglo Australia. The SBS documentary "Immigration Nation: The Secret History of Us" was promoted by full page ads in the papers, portraying the White Australia Policy as a racist, anti-Asian policy.
The only criticism I saw of the absurdities of this piece of propaganda was by Troy Bramston, "Migrant’s History’s Shades of Truth”, The Weekend Australian, January 22-23, 2011, p.6.

The article is by someone taking “a generally progressive, liberal and leftist view on issues of immigration and refugees” but sees the documentary as making “assertions without evidence and it misunderstands the role of key individuals”.
Thus the White Australia Policy is seen to be a cause of Japanese military aggression. Bramston rightly sees this as absurd, and it alone discredits the documentary. All of this at tax payers’ expense.  

KEEPING IT REAL

Having personally sworn off the Big Two grocery chains for all but the barest necessities it pleased me no end when a friend sent through word of a grass roots social enterprise called ‘Food Connect’. With the words ‘organic locally grown produce’ flashing before my eyes I hopped onto their website for further info www.foodconnect.com.au and was taken enough to read on.

It seems that many other Australians share my dislike for the current food climate and have taken it upon themselves to fight back. Currently operating in the states of Queensland, Sydney and Adelaide, Food Connect abides by the principles of ‘Community Supported Agriculture’ a successful system in practice for the past 20 years in North America.

Essentially, the farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public, which generally consists of a box of vegetables/fruit or other farming goods; consumers purchase a share (membership or subscription) and receive a weekly box of seasonal produce throughout the farming season. There’s no choice as to the box’s individual content, which may not suit all people, but this way you get a ‘surprise’ each week, with recipe ideas and a newsletter introducing you to the growers and their farms.

Food Connect claims to have not only increased access to local, organically grown food but have offered farmers an incentive to make the transition to organic production (with 40% of the food dollar as opposed to 15 – 20% as industry standard). So in short, your fruit and veg are grown and packed in your home town ready for you to pick up each week.

As our readers may have noticed, I love a good local food movement so have been happy to sign up and get my box of goodies, but what I enjoy the most is seeing my husband and children squabble over who gets first dibs on the raw fruit and veg. Who would have thought? By the time we get home the box is half empty and there’s often no need to cook. Sure beats a drop of chemical soup in our supper.  

THE INVASION OF THE ASIAN HONEY BEE

An editorial in The Stock Journal (28 October, 2010 “Will You Say Enough Is Enough” sums up the rural crisis and the plight of our farmers aptly: “Rural communities are facing hospital closures, cost-recovery levies, irrigation cuts that would cripple food productivity, and yet more pushes to carve-up our prime agricultural land for housing”.

South Australian farmers have been hit in the guts with a new bio security levy. But what ‘SECURITY’!?
The US has banned the importation of Australian honey bees in the US after the Asian honey bee was discovered in Cairns, Queensland. These bees are hosts for a range of parasites, they are aggressive and compete with native and European bees. An infestation on the Solomon Islands led to the number of commercial hives falling from 2,000 to only five. Asian bees are unsuitable for pollinating farming crops.

The Asian bee is a host for varroa mites which it spreads. It is predicted by the federal government that varroa mites will cost Australian agriculture $50 million a year. The federal government has decided to stop eradicating the Asian honey bee.
This decision has the potential to destroy the Australian bee industry; the CSIRO predicts that the Asian honey bee will spread throughout Australia. Can it be that Asianisation has got to such a manic level in this cringing country that Asian bees are now favoured over native and European bees – merely because they are Asian?
