THE “SIP 'N SAVE” CARBON TAX: THE ENERGY WAR BEGINS

The carbon tax is like that booze ad that tells us, the more you sip, the more you save. That I could believe. But can the same be true of the carbon tax? Treasurer Wayne Swan-song has told us that we will be better off with a carbon tax: his econometric crystal ball and economic magicians analysing chicken entrails have told him that Australia’s annual growth in real income per capita will be 1.1% until 2050. What, because of, or in spite of, a carbon tax? (The Australian, June 7, 2011, p.1) And then there is climate change guru Ross Garnaut, who says that Australia is not getting ahead of the pack with a carbon tax: in “fact” there would be greater financial stress from falling too far behind the rest of the world than getting too far ahead. (The Australian, June 10, 2011, p.13)

However, families already face a rise in household electricity bills by up to 30% by mid-2013. The government of Queen Julia the Oppressor’s renewable energy scheme will contribute 11% of that increase. There are other concerns as well such as State-based feed-in solar tariff schemes. The uncertainty over carbon pricing has led to the capitalists raising gas prices as well. (The Weekend Australian, June 11-12, 2011, p.1) Despite all the political ‘stardust’, families with both mum and dad working (with combined income of $90,000) are struggling. (The Australian, June 10, 2011, p.9: “Little Relief for the Average Household”)

Meanwhile big business in Australia pushes ahead with “the biggest fossil fuel investment boom in Australia’s history”, expanding coal exports and making Australia a “big carbon polluter” even given the carbon tax. (The Australian, June 7, 2011, p.12) No, the carbon tax is just another version of the GST, designed to exploit working people and small business, while allowing big business to be as rich as ever. The carbon tax is just a continuation of the cultural wars by another name.

CITIZENS OF ALASKA FARE BETTER THAN THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA

Not on the Payroll: To the Editor, The Chronicle, Toowoomba, Qld. Dear Sir, The citizens of Alaska receive a dividend from their government which is linked to the per barrel price of oil, exported from their country. The more oil taken, the bigger the dividend paid. Unemployment is not a problem, in fact it is desirable, as the annual dividend from the export of this wealth, is sufficient to pay for accommodation, clothing and food and more. Those employed of course receive the dividend as a bonus to their salary.

When the oil runs out this situation will change, though there is nothing to stop the government continuing to pay its citizens a dividend based on the national wealth, instead of its citizens paying the government taxes. The enormous amount of wealth in the form of coal and gas being exported from the Darling Downs and elsewhere, should make us eligible for a dividend from the sale of this wealth.

The original wealth produced on the Darling Downs came from wool, grain and milk, while the continuing wealth comes from grain. While the previous wealth is being replaced by the export of coal and gas, the only dividend will be to those working for a salary to export it. Somebody else is receiving the whopping dividend.

There should be enough money from the sale of all this coal to finance the new range crossing, down whence the coal proceeds to another country as a dividend to the recipients.

WELCOME THE UNIVERSE TO AUSTRALIA!

I was at my old university working on one of my diatribes when a glazed-eyed girl handed me a leaflet advising me to welcome asylum seekers, refugees, migrants…everyone! No doubt if there were space aliens out there, they too would be welcome. We, who have so much, must give, give, give! This is the new White person’s burden. The Chinese and Africans are judged by a different morality, one which allows nationalism and identity. Anglo Saxons must be dissolved and their lands all open to everybody.

What about ecology? According to Paul Gilding in The Great Disruption, we are facing a global crisis which requires a “global solution”. Faint chance of that: The UN has failed to stop war and preserve peace even judged by pinko standards. On the contrary, an environmental crisis is best tackled by each locality becoming as self-reliant as possible. This reduces the entropy created by free trade. It forces people to live within limits. Sure, the capitalists get less profits, but these people are economically obese and need a radical weight reduction program. Open immigration means ecological doom.  

REFUGEE FUNDING FROLICS

You work it out – words fail me! Here are the key passages from “Refugee Group Put on Notice After Audit”, The Australian, May 25, 2011, p.6:

• “The Department of Immigration last month signed a new three year contract with a government funded refugee service provider that charged excessive rents for uninhabitable accommodation and was referred to the NSW police over allegations of theft.
• Navitas English and Resolve FM was put on notice on Monday following a review into refugee settlement services in the Hunter region of NSW.
• But Navitas was last month awarded a new three-year contract to provide services to two regions in the state, with the Hunter contract worth $300,000 a year.
• The independent Ernest and Young review released on Monday has prompted a nationwide audit of refugee services after it found refugees were living in sub-standard accommodation and were frequently charged between $50 and $210 a week more than the assessed fair market rental for the properties.
• One “uninhabitable” house had holes in the roof, broken windows, no hot water and panels missing from the side of the premises. The review recommended five families be immediately rehoused.

I understand that one pro-refugee action group wants parties to be held for refugees all over Australia. Maybe they should investigate the above issue first and then party on.  

THE LEFT/RIGHT DIVIDE STRATEGY - A ‘MEANS TO AN END’

No matter where one looks, websites or front pages of newspapers, the main story is the terrible massacre in Norway; but, underlying the headlines is the way the news is presented. It is aimed at always stirring up the left/right conflicts. The people, that is, those like you and me, ordinary common-garden-variety people - who have no power nor wish to have it - just want to live our own lives in peace and security, and let live.

Let me give you some examples of what we face:
Gilad Atzmon, a former Israeli Jew who renounced his Israeli citizenship and Judaism asks: Was the Massacre in Norway a reaction to BDS? My question is: Have the Norway massacres added fuel to the Palestinian-Israel blaze? They have certainly added to the international/national left/right divide.

Gilad continues: “I learned last night from an Israeli online journal, that two days before the Utoya Island massacre, AUF’s (Labour Party's youth movement) leader Eskil Pedersen gave an interview to the Dagbladet, Norway's second largest tabloid newspaper, in which he unveiled what he thinks of Israel.
In the course of the interview, Pedersen stated that he “believes the time has come for more drastic measures against Israel, and (that he) wants the Foreign Minister to impose an economic boycott against the country.”
Pederson went on to say, “The peace process goes nowhere, and though the whole world expect Israel to comply, they do not. We in Labour Youth will have a unilateral economic embargo of Israel from the Norwegian side.”

The AUF Labour Party Youth Movement have been devoted promoters of the Israel Boycott campaign, The Dagbladet newspaper reporting that “The AUF has long been a supporter of an international boycott of Israel, but the decision at the last congress, demands that Norway imposes a unilateral economic embargo on the country and it must be stricter than before. I acknowledge that this is a drastic measure”, stated Pedersen, “but I think it gives a clear indication that we are tired of Israel's behaviour, quite simply”.

Atzmon continues: Yesterday we also learned that mass-murderer Anders Behring Breivik was openly enthusiastic about Israel. According to a variety of internet outlets, Behring Breivik was a regular poster on several Norwegian internet sites, notably the blog document.no, which is run by Hans Rustad, a former left-wing journalist. Hans Rustad is Jewish, extremely pro-Zionist, and warns against ‘Islam-isation’, violence, and other social problems he assumes to be connected with Muslim immigration…”

Monocultural versus Multicultural divide: “Piecing together Breivik's various posts on the Internet, many media reports have characterised the terrorist – who says he was upset over the multiculturalist policies stemming from Norway's Labour Party – as a "right-wing, Christian fundamentalist." Yet, while McVeigh rejected God altogether, Breivik writes in his manifesto that he is not religious, has doubts about God's existence, does not pray, but does assert the primacy of Europe's "Christian culture" as well as his own pagan Nordic culture.

Faith versus Reason divide: Breivik instead hails Charles Darwin, whose evolutionary theories stand in contrast to the claims of the Bible, and affirms: "As for the Church and science, it is essential that science takes an undisputed precedence over biblical teachings. Europe has always been the cradle of science, and it must always continue to be that way. Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I'm not an excessively religious man. I am first and foremost a man of logic. However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe."

Everywhere one looks there is conflict, fragmentation, disconnection and confusion – the Revolution is proceeding nicely. But, the ordinary common-garden-variety people are finally waking up to the tactics and strategy. Now it is time they stirred into action and brought their local politician to account.  

OBAMA’S “FAKE” BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Now that Obama has released the long-form of his much sort out birth certificate, where do the “birthers” go from here? Well it seems that it is being claimed that this certificate is a fake. For one thing, the race of Obama Hussein Barach – sorry – Barack Hussein Obama Sr, - is listed as “African”, when in 1961 it should have been “Negro” as the expression “African American” was not used.

Then we get down to conspiracy business, with a Hawaiian PI claiming that a forgery has occurred because the latest birth certificate lists Obama’s birth as being at Kapiolani, when previously the media had reported it as being Queens Medical Center. Other birthers say that the released document shows that Obama Sr was never a US citizen.

There are claims from computer experts that the document has signs of being altered because of multiple levels of graphic information found in the file. (Don’t ask me what that means) In any case, the birthers are back taking their case to the US courts. I wish them luck but I see little chance of the US courts going their way. After all, even if they are right, the courts would probably decide against them on “public policy” grounds, i.e., it is too inconvenient to accept. Previous law suits have been dismissed on the grounds that the courts are not the proper place to discuss such matters!  

FROM FREEDOM TO ISLAMICISM

While the Establishment has been waxing lyric about the revolutions for “freedom” in the Middle East, a few conservatives have sounded the alarm that “free” elections in Arab countries will lead to harder line Islamicism and Sharia law. View from the Right quotes from the Washington Post that according to a senior administration officer “The Obama administration is preparing for the prospect that Islamist governments will take hold in North Africa and the Middle East, acknowledging that the popular revolutions there will bring a more religious cast to the region’s politics”.

Thus, the revolutions, implemented to benefit corporate greed in the West, may carry with them a nasty sting to the capitalist’s tail.

THE LOUTISHNESS OF LEARNING

The above title is taken from Samuel Beckett, winner of the 1969 Nobel Prize for Literature. Once only a small percentage of the population obtained the degree, but today employers see, people with degrees whether they are needed or not, just as a decision procedure to sort out and cull applicants. Governments seem to believe that a more highly educated population will be an economically more productive one.
And in 2010 anyone who wants a place at university and qualifies will be in the great machine. But there is no proof that the jobs and industries to repay the energy spent in this ceaseless learning will ever be forthcoming. In the end we are producing a very educated class of unemployables, who will at least be able to (hopefully) analyse the causes of their misery and perhaps do something about it, while munching on French fries and drinking cola.  

AUSTRALIA: THE LAB-RAT NATION

There is no major coal-producing country in the world which presently imposes a direct tax on greenhouse gases from coalmines. (The Australian, June 8, 2011, p.1) Yet Australia is rushing ahead to be the first. Australia has been near the top or at the top of the list for many such social experiments.
It seems that our “she’ll be right”, “no worries, mate” culture has been a god-send to the globalists who have tested their diabolical poisons upon naïve child-like Australians first, before unleashing their horrors on wider humanity. Now we know how those cute, white lab-rats feel!  

SEND HIM A MESSAGE: CANADA’S BATTLING BARRISTER - DOUG CHRISTIE

In a recent email from Canadian Paul Fromm we were informed: “According to his wife, Keltie writing in her June, 2011 Friends of Freedom newsletter, 65-year-old Canadian Attorney Douglas Christie, the fearless barrister who so ably defended Ernst Zundel in two historic thought crime trials in Toronto in 1985 and 1988, has “prostate cancer of an aggressive grade that has already spread locally outside the prostate.”

Doug has dedicated his life to the nearly thankless task of fighting for the free speech rights of everyone from Indian Chief David Ahenakew to a coterie of Christians, Germans, East Europeans, revisionists, skeptics and individualists who refused to be commissared.
Mr. Christie went on to represent dissidents, the marginal and the nearly defenseless. Among his most spectacular victories was the 1990 acquittal of Hungarian-Canadian restauranteur Imre Finta, who had been arrested on trumped-up war crimes’ charges.
This was a huge setback for the same “Never Forgive” gang that on July 20, 2011, under cover of law, desecrated the grave of Rudolf Hess in Germany (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-14232768). Talmudic vengeance knows no bounds! Doug was ably assisted in the Finta case by the equally courageous attorney Barbara Kulaszka.

Christie defended newspaperman Doug Collins, a heroic British-Canadian soldier who escaped ten times from German POW camps in World War II. Mr. Collins testified for and wrote columns on behalf of Mr. Zundel. Those columns led to his prosecution.
Christie has also defended high school English instructor Paul Fromm, fellow teacher and Christian anti-Zionist Malcolm Ross, English anti-Talmud campaigner Lady Jane Birdwood, Internet activist Bernard Klatt, Marc Lemire, and dozens of other indigent and media-libelled victims of the new inquisition.

Michael Hoffman sums up the character of Douglas Christie and I am sure speaks for all who have met Doug Christie and his lovely wife Keltie: "Doug is one of the finest men and purest souls it has been my privilege to know. He went far beyond being Ernst’s attorney. He became his friend and a defender of the German people as a whole. A lesser man would have been broken by the stress and the media libel. Doug relished the challenge and stepped into history’s spotlight chasing destiny."

FURTHER TO HEINER COVER-UP IN QUEENSLAND PARLIAMENT

It smells of a major cover up. $120,000 dollars of public monies has been given to a Queensland women.

The troubling issue is that no member of the public or elected member of parliament are allowed to ask why it was handed over. It's widely believed that the money has been used by the State Government to cover up or pay compensation for a crime, as stated in a media release by the Member for Beaudesert Aiden McLindon.

However when he asked what would be a fairly ordinary question it was ruled out of order! In another bizarre twist, the Parliamentary Committee chair Paul Hoolihan shut the proceedings and after backroom debated ruled that the committee charged with Community affairs could not hear the question.

As things currently stand someone in the government has handed over $120,000 dollars of public money, possibly, according to State Member for Beaudesert Aiden McLindon, to cover up a crime! Why aren't people yelling from the rooftops about this?

THE AUSTRALIAN CONSTITUTION AND THE VOTE FOR WOMEN

Who says that interesting conservative views in law journals are not out there? I recently read J. Goldsworthy, “ Originalism in Constitutional Interpretation”, Federal Law Review (1997). A discussion occurs about the “one vote, one value principle” and women’s voting. Does “directly chosen by the people” in sections 7 and 24 include women? Goldsworthy argues that the Founding Fathers did intend to exclude women:
“To treat the founders’ understanding as…a mere application intention, which would now be ignored because it amounted to a misunderstanding of the meaning of the words they enacted in ss7 and 24… is to attribute to them an elementary mistake which would have been obvious at the time. Even in 1900, women were regarded as people.
The founders did not stupidly overlook this fact when they adopted the words of ss7 and 24; rather they used those words in a loose and non-literal but idiomatic sense. The same would be true if those words were re-enacted today: they would not be understood literally, as guaranteeing the right of children to vote, though children are people… but in the light of current democratic principles and electoral arrangements, just as they were understood in 1900”. (p.46)

Nevertheless, women are given the vote because of a political campaign and political agenda, not because of any fine legal argument based on constitutional considerations. The Law is not some independent source of reason and logic, but the ultimate plaything of power politics.

SHOWDOWNS AT THE OK GOLD-COAST CORAL

I guess the desperado hombres came because the sign “Gold Coast” is too inviting. At the coast is water for horses (usually from some dying stream flowing out to sea) and for the outlaw… “gold”. Six shooters on their hips, rifles and shotguns lovingly cradled in their hands, the riders of doom take their time riding into town. Nobody is going anywhere and the show is just beginning… Will it go back to that?

Australia’s Gold Coast has experienced its 59th armed hold-up this year. National attention was directed to the Gold Coast by the tragic death of a police officer, shot in a botched hold-up. Bold economic times and rising unemployment in concentrated population centres is leading to violence and drug-related crime.
In Victoria, although crime is falling in the CBD in the suburbs the crime rate is exploding; in Melton, robberies are up 20%, assaults up by about 80% and non-residential burglaries up 30%. (The Australian, June 9, 2011, p.3)

This is just the beginning…of the end. What will things be like when the economic claws really dig deep from the carbon tax and other politically correct absurdities?  

THE LIMITS OF CANCER RESEARCH

Going through my files I came across two scientific papers on cancer, the significance of which needs to be thought through. H.G. Welch and W.C. Black, “Overdiagnosis in Cancer”, (JNCI, April 22, 2010) discusses overdiagnosis of cancer in Western medicine: the diagnosis of cancers which do not go on to cause symptoms or death because the cancer does not progress or regresses or the cancer progresses so slowly that the patient dies of something else.
It was estimated by these researchers that around 25% of breast cancers detected by mammographs, 50% of chest x-rays and/or sputum-detected lung cancers and 60% of prostate cancers detected by prostate-specific antigen tests arise from overdiagnosis.

Another technical paper E.Anderson (et. al.), “Randomised Phase III Controlled Trials of Therapy in Malignant Glioma: Where are We After 40 years?” British Journal of Neurosurgery, vol. 22, 2008, pp. 339-349, looked at changes in median survival times over the past 40 years from brain cancer. Although there were “tremendous advances in both the understanding of the biology of malignant gliomas and treatments in neuro-oncology, the prognosis for patients with malignant gliomas, although improved, remains very poor”. (p.339)

The results show the limits of technological medicine in my opinion, given the enormous amount of research money flooded into the area of cancer research. Anderson (et. al.) conclude their paper by saying: ‘If ‘cure’ of glioblastoma is to be considered the equivalent of conquering Mount Everest, then at present and after 40 years of effort, we are probably struggling uphill from Base camp!” (p.347) Not much for all the billions of dollars worldwide.

BLACK SWAN MARKETS AND GFC No.2

The economic brains at this noble and honourable site have been advising for some time that the economy is likely to go “pear shaped”, so to vary the metaphor, “fasten your seatbelt”. Now along comes an article by James Dunn in The Australian (Wealth, May 11, 2011) with that title and the catchy opening line:
“There is increasing concern about global imbalances”. It seems that the financial gurus are advising to “take some profits and dial down the risk in their portfolios” i.e., to move into cash. Black Swan events – low probability but disastrous events – could happen, including a US debt default.
After reading that, the rest of the article went on to talk about how to protect your portfolio, but since I have nothing, I have nothing to protect and I lost interest reading. Instead I reflected for a while on the great panic that will be created when the really big financial earthquake hits. Nevertheless there is a cure for ignorance and people concerned about these uncertain times can stockpile the ammunition of learning and wisdom from the League bookshop.

Well recommended are Frances Hutchinson’s books on Social Credit: “Social Credit: Some Questions Answered”, $9.50 plus postage and “The Political Economy of Social Credit and Guild Socialism”, written along with Senior Lecturer in Economics Brian Burkitt of the University of Bradford. THE PERFECT FIBS OF QUEEN JULIA GILLARD

Queen Julia has shown through her execution of former PM Kevin Rudd her supreme skill in yielding the political “put-me-in-the-back-dagger”. But where she really excels is in fibbing. You know, not telling the truth. Look, give her the benefit of the doubt on the carbon tax: it was a backflip, even though she said it was not.
Consider instead her “mincing poodle” remarks about Christopher Pyne in parliament in 2009. Gillard said on June 2, 2011: “I actually never used that terminology. I invite you to go back to Hansard and see exactly what I said”.

Going back to Hansard, February 23, 2009 Queen Gilly said: “In a choice between macho and mincing, I would have gone for macho myself, and obviously the leader of the opposition, faced with the choice of a Doberman or a poodle, has gone for the poodle.” Sounds like “mincing poodle” to me.

Whether the Red Lizard is right about Pyne is beside the point. Gilly told a big fib. And nothing happens when she or other politicians do. We have accepted a culture of deceit and lies and expect our politicians to perform to such low standards. Call this the “Bill Clinton” expectation. We should be outraged and demand more. Otherwise let’s cut their pay to the level of burger-fillers and flippers.
