The Australian people are very uneasy about this carbon tax. We had a demonstration in support of the tax out the front of Parliament House, but there were more placards than people—no-one turns up; the support is all contrived… In these times of uncertainty, with what we are seeing in Europe and what we are seeing in America, what the government is doing to this nation is culpable.
Those opposite know that and that is why they are guillotining; that is why they are shutting down debate; that is why they are not allowing the Australian people to have their proper say. It is ludicrous to say that we have had a chance to look at this legislation. We have not. The government has wrapped it and stacked it and brought it in here in a bundle.
If we asked those opposite to quote sections of it or to go to the pertinent parts of it, they would not know it themselves—they would not have a clue. It is going to come in here because they have wanted out—they have other things to deal with.
They have to work out whether Mr Rudd is coming back and whether he is going to take out the Prime Minister. This is the whole soap opera that our nation has become under these people. It is a disgusting, hopeless approach to government. Every facet of this government is now a total and utter debacle.

BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES

It is not that the sun has stopped shining or that mother nature is not about her everyday tasks – it is that Mammon is determined to hold on to its powers and privileges no matter what the cost to the ‘99% of the world’. George Monbiot reports: Think the GFC was big? You ain't seen nothing yet, Guardian 12/10/2011:
“If Keen is right, the crippling sums spent on both sides of the Atlantic on refinancing the banks are a complete waste. They have not and will not kickstart the economy, because M0 money supply is not the determining factor. Keen says, the key to averting or curtailing a second Great Depression is to reduce the levels of private debt, through a unilateral write-off, or jubilee.

The irresponsible loans the banks made should not be honoured. This will mean taking many banks into receivership. Otherwise private debt will sort itself out by traditional means: mass bankruptcy, which will generate an even greater crisis.
These are short-term measures. I would like to see them leading to a radical reappraisal of our economic aims and moves to develop a steady-state economy, of the kind proposed by Herman Daly and Tim Jackson. Governments and central bankers now have an unprecedented opportunity to learn from the catastrophic mistakes they've made. It is an opportunity they seem determined not to take. Read more:

HARMONY: A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT OUR WORLD

It is truly an honour and an experience to have read His Royal Highness, Prince Charles’ “Harmony: A New Way of Looking at the World” (2010). His is a beautifully presented book with exquisite photographs of the natural world and also a book proposing a powerful theme : humanity has lost its way. Prince Charles compares our plight to someone who has lost their way, who need to go back, retrace their steps and see where they went wrong. We need to do so too.

In the name of ‘modernism’ our world has been devastated by pollution, environments destroyed and indigenous cultures threatened. Modernisn is more than just a movement in art and architecture; it is the philosophy of de-humanised industrialism, materialism and science worship that has led to our experience of the loss of the perception of the interconnectedness of nature.

Chapter 2 of the book “Nature” gives a highly readable account of the environmental crisis, and Prince Charles soberly notes that the monocultures of the world’s farmlands are constituting something of a “suicide belt” (p.63) open to destruction by climate change and disease.

What then is to be done? Prince Charles proposes that we need to regain “tradition” and the wisdom of the past, a proposal made by many conservative thinkers. However, this is not merely cultural, but is profoundly ecological, where we need to come to understand the rythms of nature and the ebbs and flows of life.
This regaining of our place in the cosmos involves regaining our lost experience of the interconnectedness of nature and re-unifying soil and soul. (p.190) Human health is shown to be intimately connected to living in a healthy environment. (p.224) “Everything is bound to all else; causes are linked to effects and mindful of a unity that underlies the apparent diversity in the world. (p.312)

Harmony shows that Prince Charles is a leading ecological thinker. As the “people’s prince” he has written a highly readable book which you will not be able to put down. With Christmas fast approaching readers are well advised to purchase copies. At the price of $30.00 + postage from Heritage Books, it is excellent value for a thick hardback book.

This is a tremendous book that you will leave on your coffee table and dip into, again and again, enjoying the prose and photographs. I cannot praise this book enough – you deserve to treat yourself and read it now!

REGAINING OUR BEARINGS AND INTERCONNECTEDNESS

In “The Fig Tree” September 1938 Douglas cautioned his readers against the misuse of words and their meanings. We must be clear what we mean by a word and sure that our readers or listeners understand its intended meaning. In an artile titled “Production and Distribution” C.H. Douglas wrote:
Much confusion has been introduced into the analysis of the industrial and economic system by the use of the word "production." Consideration of the elementary principles of the conservation of energy and matter is sufficient to indicate that there is no process involved which can justifiably be called production, but that we have to deal with a metabolic system which involves taking matter and energy in the forms in which they are provided to us by nature, and transforming them into other forms in which they are more useful to the special purposes and aims of man; a statement of the case which does not differ very materially from the definition of engineering contained in the Charter of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Left to themselves these "products" resort to formless states approximating to the "raw materials" out of which they are fashioned.

All changes of form are energy processes, and from this fact it is clear that any fundamental change in the energy content of the economic process may be expected to exert a profoundly modifying influence upon the relation of the system to other human interests. It is probable that it is the change in the energy content of our modern economic system which at bottom is responsible, more than anything else, for the readjustments with which we are faced in the world today.

This is not, of course, to suggest that the increased energy content of the economic system is in itself a disadvantage. On the contrary, it is the direct, and probably the only method by which the limitations imposed upon mankind by nature, as apart from those imposed upon him by local restrictions, can be removed.

Man is primarily a heat engine, requiring per day in the case of the adult about 4,000 calories contained in complex fuel. Simply regarded as a prime mover, he is probably capable of exerting about 1/12th to 1/15th of one horsepower for the equivalent of about six hours out of the twenty-four. On the rough estimate of 150 million horsepower available in Great Britain, the modern production system, so far as energy content is concerned, has a potential output (on the basis of a forty million population, of whom, say, fifteen millions are employable) of at least four hundred times that of the population unaided by mechanical power…” Beginning to see why the Carbon Tax is being pushed gentle reader?

National director Lou Cook had this to say about the Carbon Tax:
“I am somewhat surprised by the number of people taken in by what has been a skilful propaganda campaign. Of course, people want to live in a clean environment and, to this end, governments have set up the Environment Protection Authority with almost unlimited power to prosecute offenders with penalties that more than punish, but actually destroy, all who offend.

Federal Climate Change Minister Greg Combet, recently announced the carbon tax legislation, not only are Australians to have another tax imposed on them, but also several burgeoning bureaucracies to boot. It is a package of 14 draft bills. The initial tax proposed is $23 per tonne of carbon' dioxide. Why $23?
The Greens want a higher tax, but this is a compromise to make the tax as small as possible for acceptance by the Australian voter and this is "sweetened" by buying support from likely disadvantaged groups who don't realise that like the "never ever GST", it will filter down through the financial chain to those who can least afford it. Like other government taxes and charges, it will be indexed to inflation so its escalation to a higher financial burden is assured.

Ten per cent to go to the United Nations – and its international bureaucracy
To bring the "carbon tax" into being, the price will be locked in until 2015 and then it will phase into an "emissions trading scheme" which will be subject to a turnover tax. Ten per cent of the tax will be payable to the United Nations. There you have it; a world tax paid by Australians to an irresponsible, unaccountable bureaucracy on a scale never envisioned. The proposed 'carbon tax and emissions trading scheme will do nothing to improve the environment, but will pave the way for speculators and nefarious planners to the detriment of the Australian people.”

Upon rereading Bryan Monahan's "Introduction to Social Credit", especially the chapter on Physics I can see why the carbon tax is so important to the ruling powers - the consumption of food, etc., is controlled through the money-price mechanism (as Douglas points out in "The Control and Distribution of Production")
It is a very clear the intention to 'ration' our food (energy). A people kept on 'short rations' is a people lacking energy to revolt against their slave masters and therefore easier to control. The League's understanding of 'technocracy' in the wrong hands goes back a long way.

THE ANSWER IS…? SOCIAL CREDIT OF COURSE…!

The problem is not that banks create (credit) money through their loaning activity. It is that they claim ownership of the credits which they create. This would be rectified by the National Dividend and the Compensated Price which would in effect restore to the citizen his rightful and inalienable beneficial inheritance in the communal capital. Social Credit would fill the present existing gap between consumer financial prices created and financial incomes available to consumers in each production cycle. That is, earned incomes would form a diminishing amount of purchasing-power while the Social Credit consumer credits would be issued to make up the difference via the National (Consumer) Dividend and the Compensated (retail) Price.

There would be no overall need for consumer debt because consumers at large would always have in their possession sufficient effective unencumbered purchasing-power to claim the (nation’s) entire flow of consumer goods as they emerged from the production line. This would be dynamic as opposed to the present system of static economics. Money in the modern credit-based economy is simply a mechanism of accounting what we produce and consume--it is essentially a mechanism by which we transmit information.

Existing national financial cost-accountancy is defective
Unfortunately the existing system, national financial cost accountancy is defective in that it quite properly charges the consumer with capital depreciation but quite wrongly fails to credit the consumer with capital appreciation, which latter greatly and increasingly exceeds capital depreciation.
The Social Credit Consumer Dividends are an inalienable inheritance and payable to all citizens equally. The Compensated (consumer) Price applies to all consumer goods at point of retail sale. Both are variable and dependent upon the prevailing ratio of national production to consumption for the preceding accountancy period.

Douglas was an engineer of world-wide experience and as Assistant Director of the Royal Aircraft Works at Farnborough (United Kingdom) made his discovery of an intrinsic and growing error in the price-system while sorting out an accounting dilemma into which that institution had fallen. His enquiry was initiated on a purely inductive basis and his recommendations for financial reform were firmly based upon rational scientific thought. Upon further reflection and analysis his position was "discovered" or revealed to be compatible with Christian concepts, a theme later elaborated by both Douglas and other Social Credit authors.

Douglas's ideas were not an economic "theory", per se:
He put forward a statement based upon accountancy of the nature of the existing price-system describing the relative flows of financial costs and incomes during the operation of productive enterprise. The statement was a descriptive theorem to be accepted or not accepted upon the basis of available information and observable phenomena. The Theorem was a macroeconomic generalization derived from microeconomic accountancy data. Douglas said that the greatest issue before us appears to be the incarnation, i.e., the practical application in our organic affairs of policy derived from our philosophy.

Douglas said that society "is primarily metaphysical and must have regard to the organic relationships of its prototype." All policy is based upon some philosophy and can be traced back to its antecedent philosophy, i.e., it has a pedigree. No society, no organization and no conscious being can exist in the absence of some philosophy whether there is conscious apprehension or not.
It is meaningless to say that a nation is merely "secular" which suggests an absence of philosophy--an impossibility. The term "religion" was described by Douglas as an attempt to "bind back" (from the Latin "religare") to reality--some religions being more successful and realistic than others.

The incontrovertible fact is that Western European civilisation derived primarily from Christian values and its institutions of constitutional government (trinitarian) and law (common), etc., arose in the context of this guiding influence. If the Western European world has indeed become merely "secular" then it has lost its rudder and is proceeding without any stabilizing or guiding system of values and under such circumstances surely its current malaise is hardly surprising with the final prognosis being dismal to say the least.

Existing financial system non-Christian
One can be assured that the existing financial system is very much based upon a very real philosophy--and this is identifiably non-Christian. Getting down to essentials, in Christian terminology Salvation is based upon Grace (a "something for nothing" gift from God) a concept that is anathema and foolish to the present ruling philosophy which is based firmly on Salvation through Works.
Money today is issued exclusively for work (i.e., production) and the financial system is indeed from this perspective not properly distributive--and is therefore patently anti-Christian.

ECOLOGY, THE LIMITS TO GROWTH AND FINANCIAL TYRANNY

The relationship between our present fractional reserve based banking system and ecological destruction is seldom grasped by environmentalists. An exception is Richard Heinberg’s “The End of Growth”, (New Society Publishers, 2011) who argues that our debt based money system drives the growth machine of the economy in a seemingly impossible task to catch up:
“Our debt cannot be fully repaid: every dollar saved in the past is owed ever-multiplying returns in the future, yet the planet’s stores of resources are finite and shrinking.” (p.237) As one alternative he proposes that governments create debt-free money.

As for this being inflationary, Heinberg quotes Ellen Brown, author of “Web of Debt”: “Adding money (“demand”) to an economy with high unemployment and unused productive capacity serves to increase productivity, increasing goods and services or “supply”. When supply and demand increase together, prices remain stable.”
Heinberg also gives a useful, brief summary of the use of local currencies not based on credit. All in all, a healthy sign to see environmentalists recognise the key importance of money and credit at the root of the ecological crisis. Let us hope that this interest leads them onto social credit for controlling the financial system lies at the heart of the environmental crisis.  

DYING ON THE FRONTLINE: WHAT FEMINISM HAS GIVEN TO WOMEN

So, in the period of having our first women PM, women have also earned the distinction of being able to now die on the front line. Now women can fight enemy men soldiers hand-to-hand. The end result will be dead women soldiers. Imagine women serving in the great battles of the past, enduring soul-destroying physical hardships – then think about how an enemy will give a hell on earth to our feminist soldiers. It is a politically correct act of insanity.
But the entire bag of tricks given to women by feminism, “free love”, the end of the family and slaving away for the capitalists instead of enjoying the warmth of marriage, family and children is much the same. Thanks for nothing, oh feminist oppressors! 

ON PHASING-OUT THE UNIVERSITIES

Something I was pleased to hear: almost half of the Australian academic workforce will either retire, go overseas or just plain give up in the next 10 years. (The Australian, September 21, 2011, p.3) This is according to a report commissioned by the Federal education department. Apart from the ageing academics gang to find a quiet place to die, casual and contract staff have had enough with this sheltered workshop existence.

Examples of this “Loutishness of learning”, the sheer futility of the academy abound. For example, most academics are encouraged by the system to seek research funding whether they need it or not. One health economist estimates that the 2983 research applications sent to the National Health and Medical Research Council in 2009 cost a total of $47.9 million or $17, 744 each with 85% of the cost being carried by applicants. In 2009, 180 years of research time was used up. (The Australian, September 28, 2011, p.23) It is simply, a waste a life. Universities, are a waste of life.  

OVER-RATING THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT RACKET

We have been told that our billion dollar foreign student supermarkets is one of our leading industries. But Monash University demographers Bob Birrell and Fred Smith have critiqued the revenue figures of international education. (The Australian, September 21, 2011, p.28)
The figures have been inflated because they add students’ onshore earnings and exclude many onshore costs such as offshore agents’ fees. The export value of the international student supermarkets is about half of what the political elites claim. And I suspect that this “inflation” is deliberate because the main point of this industry is to bring young elite Asians to Australia to build an Asian ruling class to dispossess Anglo-Australia.  

INDIGENOUS CASH DOWN THE PLUG HOLE

What could Australia do with $3.5 billion a year to improve conditions for outback Australia for both black and white Australians? A report by the federal Department of Finance says that the $3.5 billion spent on Aboriginal Australia gives “dismal’ results. Many indigenous Australians are as bad off as those in 1970:
“The history of commonwealth policy for indigenous Australians over the past 40 years is largely a story of good intentions, flawed policies, unrealistic assumptions, poor implementation, unintended consequences and dashed hopes. Strong policy commitments and large investments of government funding have too often produced outcomes which have been disappointing at best and appalling at worst.” (The Australian, August 18, 2011, p.1)

The situation is much worse though for Aboriginal women and children who are victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. In the cities the White liberal intelligentsia sleep tight and cosy in their warm beds with no guilty consciences.  

WILL THE ELECTRIC SOCIETY FRY IN 2012?

I recently sped-read Lawrence Joseph’s book, “Aftermath: A Guide to Preparing for and Surviving Apocalypse 2012”, (Broadway Books, New York, 2010). There is a whole lot of material on the supposed apocalypse coming in 2012, based on that date being the end of the Mayan prophecies. Of course we would immediately object: so what, what makes these people so special?
However Joseph in this book and “Apocalypse 2012” attempts to examine scientific reasons for why disaster could strike. In both books he covers a lot of disaster scenarios, but one seems particularly relevant to 2012: severe space weather events such as coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the sun.

Many people have responded to global warming by denying that it is human caused and positing that it is a product of an extra energetic sun. On August 27, 1859, the “Carrington event” took place (named after British astronomer Richard Carrington) where a strong coronal mass ejection occurred. Northern lights or auroras were seen down to Havana Cuba.
That event occurred before our modern electric/computer society. But if that event took place today much of this technical wizardry would be fried. The technological society would end instantly. Now there is also a hole in the Earth’s magnetic field which will make things worse, if that is possible. Joseph does not spend much time substantiating the case that this cosmic catastrophe could happen in 2012. Yet clearly it can happen anytime. Our obsession with electricity has made us sitting ducks in the great barbecue of the cosmos.  

EXPLODING POPULATIONS AND THE COMING ANARCHY

The only decent Labor MP in my opinion is Kelvin Thomson. On August 25, 2011 he addressed the Sustainable Population Australia and Australia Institute on “The Witches’ Hat Theory of Government: How Increasing Populations is Making the Task of Government Harder.” In a nutshell rapid population growth fuels social instability: this is seen in Africa and the Middle East. It is like attempting to do an advanced driving course through sets of rubber cones. The more cones and the closer together, the more one hits and hit enough and you fail the test. Rapid population growth is making places like California ungovernable.

Thomson points out that in Europe, the failure to deal with mass immigration has played into the hands of the “far-right”, shock, horror. Of course, if you are in the paradigm of being Federal Labor Member for Wills, you will believe that. I see it differently but forget our differences. Thomson is right to see the signs of social disintegration brought about by immigration-led population increase, in Australia. The witches’ hat seems to be operating. The politically correct Left and the infinitely greedy, economic Right, both are united in bringing ecological destruction to this dying land of ours.

John Demjanjuk’s Trial: The Editor of The Australian, 9th October 2011.

In what way can the recent trial in Germany of John Demjanjuk be really understood as 'successful' ('World', 8-9/10)? No evidence whatever was adduced that the accused had committed any specific crime. Reliance was placed on an obviously faked ID card supplied in 1976 by a communist newspaper. Moreover, the alleged crimes were accepted as having happened on faith by both sides, because the defence lawyers did not wish to risk prosecution under Germany's grotesquely illiberal laws forbidding 'Holocaust denial'. In short, the proceedings were successful as an ideological show trial, but not as an enactment of justice. And now attitudes of misguided vengeance are being taken to a new extreme of folly, with 'blood money' being offered to people who choose to turn in extremely aged men 'who could die any minute'! Madness and wickedness will walk hand in hand if any future trials do take place, for there will be no adequate evidence, the defendants will be too weak to properly defend themselves and any eyewitnesses will suffer from defective memory.
