“Around 65,000 people have queued for hours in Saint Petersburg to see a religious relic brought from Greece, officials said Saturday, in the latest sign of the Russian Orthodox Church's influence in post-Soviet Russia.
The cross of Saint Andrew -- said to be a relic of the X-shaped cross on which Andrew the Apostle was crucified -- was placed in Saint Petersburg's Kazan Cathedral on Thursday after arriving from its historic home in Patras in Greece.

In just the first days of its display, there were some 65,000 visitors and the numbers are increasing all the time, a representative of the fund which helped bring the cross to Russia told the RIA Novosti news agency. The cross has come from Greece as part of commemorations of the 1,025th anniversary of the Christianisation of the mediaeval Slavic state of Rus….
The relic is due to stay in Saint Petersburg until Monday and then be taken to Kiev in Ukraine, Minsk in Belarus and to the Russian capital Moscow before returning to Greece on August 2.”

Crucifixion of St. Andrew
Eusebius in his church history 3,1 quotes Origen as saying Andrew preached in Skythia. The Chronicle of Nestor adds that he preached along the Black Sea and the Dnieper river as far as Kiev, and from there he travelled to Novgorod. Hence he became a patron saint of Ukraine, Romania and Russia. According to tradition, he founded the See of Byzantium (Constantinople) in AD 38, installing Stachys as bishop.
According to Hippolytus of Rome, he preached in Thrace, and his presence in Byzantium is also mentioned in the apocryphal Acts of Andrew, written in the 2nd century. Basil of Seleucia also knew of Apostle Andrew's mission in Thrace, as well as Scythia and Achaia. This diocese would later develop into the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Andrew is recognized as its patron saint.

Andrew is said to have been martyred by crucifixion at the city of Patras (Patræ) in Achaea, on the northern coast of the Peloponnese. Early texts, such as the Acts of Andrew known to Gregory of Tours, describe Andrew as bound, not nailed, to a Latin cross of the kind on which Jesus is said to have been crucified; yet a tradition developed that Andrew had been crucified on a cross of the form called Crux decussata (X-shaped cross, or "saltire"), now commonly known as a "Saint Andrew's Cross"…”

And then Terry McCrann ‘dumped’ on Kevin Rudd: “Kevin Rudd in classic pre-election ploy over carbon tax” Herald Sun 16 July 2013. “Prime Minister Kevin Rudd can see clearly now that he wants to fast track an emissions trading scheme in place of the carbon tax. Kevin Rudd is NOT ditching the carbon tax. He isn't even cutting it. Your power prices won't fall by a single cent on his announcement. All he is doing is engaging in a classic pre-election ploy. At best, you could say, he was promising that "there'd be a lower carbon tax under a government I lead".

The critical point is that it's not even the classic situation that voters have to take on trust, that after the election, he doesn't find out, were he to win, that, unfortunately he then just had to break that promise. Like so many, including his immediate predecessor, before him. No, that would just be 'normal politics'. But in this case, he simply doesn't have the power to guarantee what the carbon tax price would be. Because what Rudd's doing, is promising to leave it to be set by Europe and/or financial speculators.

You don't have to be a political genius to understand that Europe will set its price, or try to set its price, in what it sees as the best interests of Europe. It won't give two hoots for Australia or Australian business and consumer electricity users.
Similarly, you don't have to be a financial genius to appreciate that speculators will want to, and will be trying to, sell any carbon dioxide emission permits they have, for the highest possible price. Again, they won't be aiming to look after Aussie consumers…

The whole 'point' of this carbon tax/ETS (emissions trading scheme) IS to hurt everyone with higher electricity prices. So both users, business and consumers, will use less electricity; and that power companies will switch to non-coal - much more costly, and essentially useless - forms of so-called 'alternative' energy. This is the fundamental internal dishonesty of what Rudd is trying to con voters into believing. That they can have cheaper power and still save the planet.” Read further here…

Thousands of dirty diesel generators are being secretly prepared all over Britain to provide emergency back-up to prevent the National Grid collapsing when wind power fails. And under the hugely costly scheme, the National Grid is set to pay up to 12 times the normal wholesale market rate for the electricity they generate.

One of the main beneficiaries of the stopgap plan is the Government itself, which stands to make hundreds of millions of pounds by leasing out the capacity of the generators in public-sector property including NHS hospitals, prisons, military bases, police and fire headquarters, schools and council offices.
But the losers will be consumers who can expect yet further hikes in their electricity bills in the name of ‘combating climate change’. The scheme is expected to cost £1 billion a year by 2015, adding five per cent to energy bills.

This scheme is a direct consequence of the renewable energy policy adopted by the Coalition but first developed by Tony Blair in response to EU renewables directives to reduce Britain’s carbon emissions by 20 per cent by 2020. As more and more wind turbines are built to replace fossil fuels, so the National Grid will become increasingly unstable because wind power is intermittent, unpredictable and unreliable.

Wind now constitutes about ten per cent of Britain’s energy mix. Under current Government targets, the plan is to increase this to 25 per cent by 2020. Read further:

K RUDD’S MOUTH RIDES AGAIN!

In a recent article (People’s Wish to Hail Caesar”, The Australian 1 July 2013, p.10) George Melleuish says that people want a “democratic Caesarism”, a leader who, once elected (the “democratic” bit) acts like Caesar and looks after and protects them. The people can then switch off and graze. As I see it this mentality not only destroys “democracy” but is also dangerous because the Caesars do not protect the people but only serve the global money class.

The people will be sorely disappointed if they think that KRudd will be their Caesar. He is off to a bad start with his remarks that Abbott’s boat policy turnaround will provoke military conflict between Australia and Indonesia. Not only is this irresponsible for a prime minister who claims to be a foreign policy expert, but it ignores the role that Indonesia is playing aiding people smugglers. Indonesia says that the asylum seeker problem is Australia’s alone., but never mind that Indonesian boats with Indonesian-based people smugglers move people who have entered Indonesia with false documents – known to be so by Indonesian authorities who make no attempt to stop this.

Rudd himself is ultimately responsible for more than 45,000 illegals coming to Australia at a cost of billions, all arising from the abolition of temporary protection visas and the Pacific solution. Rudd does not have a policy of stopping the boats : he seems to act as if the boats can’t be stopped and that we should just accept it. Ten billion dollars wasted and counting.

Add to this picture the role of the UN’s High Commissioner for refuges who criticised Carr’s claim that the majority of Iranian asylum-seekers were not avoiding persecution but were seeking better economic conditions. Apparently this can’t be said because the Iranian cases haven’t been processed yet. What! – people who pay people smugglers, destroy their identity papers and then go by boats to literally invade Australia are genuine refugees? it is beyond belief but is standard for the politically correct mind.

An article “Locals Urge Burke to Stem Asylum Tragedies” 2 July 2013, p6, cites the views of those in multicultural western Sydney who wants the boats to stop because this is too dangerous for asylum seekers. Rather, they should come via a plane and Australia’s refugee intake should be increased!
This seems to be a common view in the electorate of Watson which has the second highest proportion of Muslim residents in Australia, at 20 per cent and where 76.8 per cent of people have both parents born overseas.
Does ethnicity have something to do with such views? Would these people have the same belief if the asylum seekers were all blue-eyed, blonde-haired Nordics?

The annual net figure quadrupled under Labour from 48,000 people in 1997 to 198,000 by 2009.

Lord Mandelson’s remarks come three years after Labour officials denied claims by former adviser Andrew Neather that they deliberately encouraged immigration in order to change the make-up of Britain. Mr Neather said the policy was designed to ‘rub the Right’s nose in diversity’. He said there was ‘a driving political purpose: that mass immigration was the way that the Government was going to make the UK truly multicultural’.

Senior Labour figures have been reluctant to concede they deliberately engineered the influx of migrants who have transformed communities over the past decade. But, at a rally for the Blairite think-tank Progress, Lord Mandelson said: ‘In 2004 when as a Labour government, we were not only welcoming people to come into this country to work, we were sending out search parties for people and encouraging them, in some cases, to take up work in this country.’ He said: ‘The problem has grown during the period of economic stagnation over the last five, six years.’…" Read more:

NORDIC RACIAL SUICIDE AND WHITE PATHOLOGY

Phillip Adams (“Test of Tolerance”, The Weekend Australian Magazine 29-30 June 2013) says that behind racism lives the perception of difference and “The hostility to the other is ancient, hard-wired, a part of our evolutionary heritage”. In our globalised world we now see the paradox of a “retreat into tribalism, ultra-nationalism, sub-cultural enclaves and strident religious intolerance.”

Contrary to Adams, there is no paradox here as globalisation itself has produced “racism” by forcing radically different ethnicities and races to live all squashed together – at least in the West. This is the grand experiment of liberalism and it is its failure, just like communism in its idealist sense failed. Communism as global collectivism succeeded but it too is, ultimately, doomed. Human nature will have its way and its revenge.  

ALL THE FUN ‘N’ GAMES OF ASIA WAR

Preparations for the “big one” – Asia War – are well advanced. With hostilities in the South China Sea, nations are engaging in an Asia arms race. China, Pakistan and India have increased their nuclear stockpiles while the West reduced its nuclear stockpiles.
Pakistan is intending to increase defence spending for 2013-2014 by 15.7 per cent to $6.3 billion (The Age 17 June 2013, p.13). This was done while the Pakistan prime minister cut budgets of all cabinet ministers by 30 per cent. This is significant and shows how serious Pakistan views the need to arm-up.

The West though is eager to sell weapons and the French are selling 126 Rafale fighter-jets to India. Russia is building 250 Stealth fighter-jets for India as well as nuclear-powered submarines. Meanwhile the Australian Defence Force has slashed its military spending. Yes, when the time finally comes, Australia will be plum and juicy, ready for invasion.

Oops, sorry, I forgot – it’s already happened. All that remains is for our total annihilation. In fifty years time will even a trace of Anglo Australia remain?  

HAPPINESS IS …. HAVING SOMETHING TO EAT AND NOT BEING COLD

Another cold night here in Adelaide which I am spending in a friend’s took shed. It is dry, but cold, although there is a light. Writing this article keeps the circulation in my fingers. I reflect upon a study rolled out of Deakin University which names the “golden triangle of happiness to be a loving partner, a fulfilling social activity and an income of $100,000 a year”!
My goodness – it took academic research to come up with that – no wonder James Reed wants to close down the universities.

In the real world outside of the now yellowing ivory towers, there is a crisis in youth unemployment with record numbers of young people looking for a job and living on welfare payments, while hundreds of thousands of migrants, and maybe half a million of would-be migrants (e.g., international students) get ready to compete on the job market. ABC’s Four Corners recently had a programme about the difficulty people have “living” on Centrelink’s Newstart allowance (the dole).

Let me tell you that you can’t really live – ultimately you end up on the street or sleeping in a shed like me. That’s how the Aussies are now “treated”. I could whinge more if my fingers weren’t frost-bitten.  

KEV THE CHRISTIAN AND GAY MARRIAGE

With Mr. Rudd back in the top spot yet again, it is time to critically look at some of Rudd’s position on social issues. Be aware that he will charge ahead with the Aboriginal constitutional recognition (as will Abbott). Rudd has also changed his position on gay marriage and the deputy Prime Minister said that Labor will make gay marriage a reality. |

Rudd is now so committed to gay marriage that he said if Abbott refuses to allow Coalition MPs a conscience vote, he will consider a referendum. Got that? – never a referendum on immigration, multiculturalism and Asianisation – but gay marriage, you’ve got it.

The Christian Lobby may mobilise against Rudd but it is not clear how much damage it could do. Other ethnic groups probably will support Rudd because he is so gung ho on mass immigration, multiculturalism etc., but then, Tony Rabbit is not far behind.
I think if Rudd gets in, Abbot will be replaced by a pro-gay marriage opposition leader and there will be a “conscience” vote, which will bring gay marriage to Australia.

Of the two evils, Labor and Liberal, I think Labor is worse by a pin-head, but a significant pin-head which no angels dance upon.  

CAN OBAMA FAITH-HEAL NELSON?

I didn’t have my glasses on when I viewed a photograph of Prezzy B. Hussein Obama looking out from a window in the jail cell on Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years (The Australian 2 July, 2013, p.8). It looked to me that Obama was ‘relieving himself’ – a terrible mistake on my part. No, his hands are in his pants pockets . Obama paid homage to his hero Nelson who he hailed as “Africa’s Washington” and he said: “His legacy is one that will linger on throughout the ages”.

No Hussein, he will be forgotten in the chaos that ANC rule has delivered to South Africa, where the official unemployment rate is over 25 per cent of the workforce and where Blacks are still poor. Mandela’s contribution was to essentially allow the ANC to economically destroy South Africa. And civilisation seeps away from the crumbling ruins of this land, people will have more to worry about than Mandela’s legacy.  

THE DOSE DOESN’T ALWAYS MAKE THE POISON

I know that there are highly trained scientific thinkers in our readership, so I offer this article for you. According to P. Myers and W. Hessler, “Does ‘the Dose Make the Poison?’” Environmental Health News 30 April, 2007, a core assumption in toxicology is not in general true. Toxicology assumes that larger doses have greater effects than smaller doses. This is true for many, but not all things.

For example the estrogenic drug diethylstilbestrol (DES) causes mice exposed in the womb to large doses (100 parts per billion) to be skinny, but much lower doses (1 ppb) results in massive obesity. Pollutants may cause different effects at different concentrations which means that scientists may be underestimating the ill effects of low doses of chemicals such as hormone-disrupting chemicals.

Health standards have not recognised this possibility, Myers and Hessler state.We may not even be aware, I believe, how we are being poisoned by the modern world.  

SWEARING ON THE KORAN? DON’T YOU WORRY ABOUT THAT!

Muslim Labor frontbencher Ed Husic was sworn in on the Koran rather than the Bible. This led to some Aussies making sharp criticisms. Husic defended the right of Australians to criticise this but also warned against “extremism”.
Yes, there are those who “seek ways in which to divide people”. But the G-G Quentin Bryce saw the swearing in as a “great day for multiculturalism in Australia” and Tony Rabbit said any abuse of Husic was “completely unacceptable”. They’re a lovely lot aren’t they?

In this context there is a need to widen the objects which MPs can swear on. I would suggest that politicians of both Liberal and Labor stables swear in on a stack of $100 notes. The bottom line is that the money power rules modern Australian politics so the robots should be honest about what fuels them, and rules them.  

CIVILISATION CONSUMES ITSELF OUT OF RESENTMENT

Continuing on this theme, Brett Stevens blogging at Amerika.org (June 15 2013, “Civilisation Consumes Itself Out of Resentment”) reflects on the self-destructiveness of Western civilisation. He cites as an example a recent TV show where the host mentioned that deaths now exceed births among non-Hispanic whites in the United States. The audience cheered – and they were non-Hispanic whites, in fact mainly Nordics (Northern Europeans). Brett Stevens rightly notes that “That’s akin to the people on the Titanic deciding that if the iceberg hasn’t done the job, they were going to go down to the hull and dynamite it, so the ship might sink.”

John Derbyshire “The Joy of Ethnomasochism” (Vdare.com 15 June 2013) commented briefly on this story, but had no answer to the question of self-destruction. Steven hypothesises that these people are self-destructive because they hate the weakness of their society and at the same time feel a sense of shame. We disagree strongly. Consider some statistics about generation Y young people in Australia (“Civic Pride a Lost Cause” The Australian, 24 June 2013, p.9). Less that half of surveyed gen-Y people aged 18-29 years support democracy over other kinds of government such as that of communist China. Amazingly 58 per cent want an increase in Asian immigration, even though young people will be facing migrants as competitors in the ultra-tight job market.

There is no shame here, just stupidity and ignorance born from having too much comfort and never having to face existential threats to their soft and Oh so cosy existence. This is not to single out specifically young people – baby boomers who have given us all the horrors of the modern politically correct world are even more to blame.

The altruism of Nordics (Northern Europeans), no doubt a product of evolutionary adaptation to cold winter environments gave them high intelligence but also a weakness that can and has been exploited by other ethnic groups. Added to this, a culture of affluence and urbanisation has further broken down tribal barriers. The Northern European ruling elites long ago decided that they would sacrifice their own race for thirty pieces of silver. Hence the cargo cults of immigration and multiculturalism.

Professor Kevin MacDonald has recently said: “Whatever blame for our situation that we [Whites] place on others, the bottom line is that we are allowing the unfolding disaster to happen. It is unprecedented for a civilisation to voluntarily cede political and cultural hegemony to others, particularly when so many of these people harbour hatreds and resentments towards our people and our culture.” (http://theoccidentalobserver.net/2012/white-pathology)

Robert S. Griffin has discussed this in his two part essay “Are Whites Pathological? Yes and No” at The Occidental Observer 29 June 2013; 1 July 2013). Professor MacDonald sees the characteristics of individualism and moral universalism as detrimental to racial survival, and Griffin discusses mainly individualism, giving a defence of it.

We believe the problem of explaining the super-ultimate origin of the pathology of our race is exceedingly complex and does involve these philosophical elements. However, these racial theorists are ignoring a sociological explanation; namely that a culture of affluence (along, of course with the culture of critique) has weakened the Nordic racial immune system so that these other factors can work. For example, support for mass migration is strongly correlated with those who benefit from it.

In this context a solution to the racial problem presents itself. A breakdown of civilisation, as in a fall of Rome, only this time a collapse of global consumer society, would effectively turn off the mind-controlling devices that control our race.
It would allow manhood to once again flourish. Thus, while there is much merit in MacDonald’s philosophical approach to the race problem, there is also another, simpler perspective.  

THE SPIRITUAL BRAIN: THE NEUROSCIENTIFIC CASE FOR THE EXISTENCE OF THE SOUL

The dominant philosophy in science is materialism – that is, all that exists in “matter” in motion. Actually “matter” has become quite abstract in the 21st century and is seen to be vibrations in a multidimensional mathematic space (String theory). That hasn’t really worried materialists too much. Rather than bothering with cutting edge physics, which sees the world as a mathematical construct (I would argue in the mind of God), they tend to keep to the biological sciences arguing that there is no soul, and no mind (as distinct from brain processes), and they claim that neuroscience backs them up.

That is where Mario Beuregard and Denyse O’Leary’s “The Spiritual Brain: A Neuroscientist’s Case For the Existence of the Soul” (Harper One, 2007), comes in. The book by a leading neuroscientist (Beuregard) sets out to challenge the paradigm that holds that the mind is an illusion generated by the brain. It does so by showing that there is little evidence for materialism and much against it. For a start, materialists must simply explain away consciousness and free will, even though they admit that neither “problem” has been “solved”.

Religious experiences come down to being a type of brain disease. But such an attitude is unscientific and dogmatic. There is good evidence that the mind of consciousness, emotions, belief, purpose and meaning), can control the brain. Psi effect, in parapsychology, has not been refuted, and materialism is impotent in accounting for it. There are also near death experiences (NDEs), which indicate that there is indeed something beyond death, although again, materialists just have to dismiss this because it challenges the entire materialist paradigm.

Most importantly Beuregard and O’Leary go through the usual arguments used by materialists (such as the human brain is just a computer) and show that there is no evidence for these views. There is even an interesting discussion of chess playing computers, which have beaten human chess champions. All this shows is that intelligence lies in the humans that wrote the programmes, and, in any case humans are now giving super computers a run for their, well, money. Original research is also presented on the neuroscience of spirituality.

A detailed summary is beyond me, but I am comforted as a Christian knowing that those capable of doing so have taken on the materialists.  

THE DEATH MERCHANTS OF TEL AVIV

Haaretz reported today that (16 July 2013) there are more than 6,800 arms exporters working in Israel. As of the end of 2012, there were “6,684 individuals dealing with security exports in 1,006 companies and 312 independent businesses. The Israeli Defence Export Controls Agency issued 1,900 marketing permits and 8,716 export permits.”

Apparently some 6,684 Israelis are making a living selling death around the world. They are serving an industry that produces more than 150,000 jobs. However, the most crucial question here is how did the Jewish State become a death factory? Early Zionism promised, indeed, to bring to the world a ‘new Jew’ – a productive, proletarian authentic human being driven by ethics and humanism. But, it didn’t take long for the Jewish State to reveal its real supremacist inclinations and plunderous pragmatism.

By now, Israel isn’t just a regional threat. It actually operates as a military industrial lab. On a daily basis it celebrates its destructive powers on the expense of Israel’s neighbours and the Palestinians, just in order to find new markets for its growing class of death merchants.
