home of ... Douglas Social Credit
21 February 2014 Thought for the Week: This modern ‘money economy’: It is cause for reflection, that in the Keynesian ethos of current economic thinking, the fact that almost all continue to work if they can, is because they “wish to”. Under the compulsion of earning an income, one’s wishes are hardly a consideration.
Empaying some without employment, by taxing and redistributing the wages of those with employment, is the full retention of employment as the sole basis of empayment. In a world where food is produced by automatic machines without any labour, the unemployed will starve to death without incomes from employment (directly or indirectly) with which to buy food.
On May 4th 1950 in the Social Crediter (exactly 20 years after their meeting at the Macmillan Enquiry) Douglas made comment upon where Keynes had gone after their meeting and his “Possibilities”: “To anyone closely in touch with affairs in the ten years before the outbreak of the second phase of the War, it was obvious that Keynes, and the Keynesian distortion of the Social Credit Thesis, were the Financiers’ Answer to the attack on the Banks. Lord Keynes was an able man, and was furnished with the best assistance unlimited money could provide; and the Keynesian Proposal for Deficit Spending, by which the under-distribution of purchasing-power disclosed by the A plus B Theorem, and rather cleverly admitted by Keynes, was paralleled by money issued to finance public works which were not for sale... were a brilliantly devised trick to put the population permanently to work for Lord Keynes’s employers.” | ||
BRAVO TO THIS YOUNG WOMAN: NEW ZEALAND’s ‘QUEEN BEE’ LORDEThe final draft of the week’s On Target was ready to be sent off to the typesetter, followed by printing of the hardcopy along with uploading the website copy, when, WOW, the following news came in; it just had to be included for all those ‘out there’ to read. Lorde’s real Grammy speech suppressed: Clipping Queen Bee’s Wings by Iggy Swind: 6 February 2014. The singer-songwriter Lorde shocked USA America’s music industry when accepting her second miniature gold-coloured gramophone for the night at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday January 26 2014 in Los Angeles, California. The shock was not because the singer-songwriter won two Grammy awards, Best Solo Pop Performance and Song of the Year, for her hit single ‘Royals’. Rather, it has emerged that Lorde delivered a lecture-like speech that was a scathing indictment of global capitalism. But, the apparent ‘live’ broadcast had a one-minute delay and was switched to a ‘rehearsal take’ that had been shot earlier.
However, as Lorde, who is from the South Pacific nation of New Zealand, continued, she split her audiences’ mirthful consensus in half like Ernest Rutherford let loose in an atomic laboratory. “Planet Earth is run by psychopaths that hide behind slick marketing, ‘freedom’ propaganda and ‘economic growth’ rhetoric, while they construct a global system of corporatized totalitarianism”, said the singer-songwriter as she eyed the music industry audience. When the cameras cut to the audience, the mood in the room had swiftly changed as the mental atom-ripping shockwaves smashed past their inner ears to their frivolous pop-culture loving brains. The sequence of shots showed there was a mixture of emotions from hearty-joke enjoyment and uncomfortable status-conscious giggles, to gob-smacked compliant shock and, most entertaining of all, outraged anger emoticon-like faces, that gave the sense of being mentally-wired to stock-market indices and law-suits. The giggling music stars included Katy Perry and Beyouncé, who were both busted by cameras snatching looks at incensed people who are paid a lot to care about USA America’s music industry cartel, which is dominated by a handful of transnational corporations. Yelich-O’Connor told her captive and now quiet audience that a USA American journalist called Chris Hedges had recently reported that a corporate form of totalitarianism was responsible for what she said the news media was hiding: the rapid militarization of the planet to gain permanent dominance over the world. The newly-gonged singer-songwriter implored the audience to see a comparison between today’s capture of power by the super-rich and the politically and militarily powerful, and capture of power over city states and nations by monarchies in former times. It was a scene reminiscent of the marionette puppet movie, Team America, wherein Broadway actor Gary Johnston, who is the newest recruit to the paramilitary anti-terrorism force, Team America, implores an audience of world leaders to unite against terrorism by drawing on a philosophical speech that a drunk had told him in a bar. However, the puppet Gary Johnston had failed to research USA America’s history in state-sponsored terrorism, whereas Lorde had done her homework. She appeared to be attempting to use the media propaganda system to reach the mass audience, rather than those that filled the room. Who rules the world now? Lorde attempts to reach the world mass audience. “Can we not imagine that in past times”, said Lorde, eyeing her music contemporaries in the front rows, “simple folk found it hard to work out exactly how they were being manipulated by the Royal monarchies, and the Papal monarchy, who claimed a ‘divine right to rule’? Ordinary people from classical times, through to the demise of the Ancien Regime could not see how the rivalrous network of elites and oligarchs were linked, not least because the illiterate masses were indoctrinated to believe in their humble lot, to obey divinely-endorsed authority and to live in fear of damnation.” ‘Lorde’ compares monarchs from the olden days to today’s transnational capitalists. At this point, many were enjoying the unexpected lecture from pops’ newest Queen pip-squeak. “So, in today’s mental world, it should become clearer now that Planet Earth is ruled by super-wealthy people, who use their outrageous fortunes to steer the trajectories of whole societies for their own material and political gain.” “Only ‘Queen Bee’ Lorde could have said that”, said a New Zealand university professor of the History of Nearly Every Hierarchical Civilization Since Sumeria, Dr. Harry Hiveman, who unofficially mentored Yelich-O’Connor in capitalism’s “dark-side” in 2011. Hiveman, who gives the academic habit of making rabbit-ear marks with his index-fingers when speaking in euphemisms and using jargon, refers to capitalism as “the death star”. Yelich-O’Connor “followed her nose” one summer day in early 2011 as Dr. Hiveman was in his office preparing for the start of the university year. The singer-songwriter, who grew up in a posh vintage North Shore suburb called Devonport in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, was looking for answers to “but, why?” questions buzzing in her mental space to do with economic inequality she had noticed on ‘the North Shore’. “Because she found me, and was willing to do what few Gen Y’ers are willing to do – read during their holidays about ‘doom and gloom’ stuff – she was able to let her mind explode on that sports stadium stage three years later”, said the Auckland University professor. Cynthia Overlord, who is the director of Limelight, a network marketing company that sells female fashion products, including make-up, enthused about Lorde’s suppressed Grammy speech. “Her fearlessness to say what all Aotearoans of her generation are thinking is why she deserves to lead the sales surge in purple finger-nail paint”, beamed Overlord, who made smiling look hard. Aotearoans are middle-class New Zealanders who have been indoctrinated by mainstream media missionaries to believe that because they regularly follow ‘the news’, this makes them well-informed. The term references Aotearoa, which is original native Mäori name for the North Island of New Zealand and translates to mean ‘the land of the long white cloud’. ‘Aotearoa’ is now commonly used to refer to the whole country because the climate has changed to windy overcast days during the brief summer holiday break when most New Zealanders go ‘outside’. Hiveman, who was once married to Overlord, sniggered when he heard Overlord “try to spin” Lorde’s speech into a marketing opportunity for Limelight to exploit the ‘Lorde-look’. “Does Cynthia Overlord really believe that Lorde’s purple finger-nails have the magic to solve Aotearoans’ inter-generational malaise”. (Upon divorce, Cynthia Hiveman resumed the use of her family name, Overlord). Royal Nails: Could Lorde’s famous purple nails reboot the New Zealand economy for the middle class? Overlord is the chairwoman of the Aotearoa Rich Reaction, a group that promotes consumerism as a means to sustain prosperity based on the idea that spending keeps everyone in jobs and therefore well-off and happy.
Hiveman says Aotearoans, like their bourgeoise counterparts in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, would rather get cancer than acknowledge a new economic war has been in play since the early 1970s. He paused. “They like to believe that their kids are better educated. In a way, some are.” Aotearoans have music to form school bands, languages to travel with and well-resourced science experiments, Hiveman explained. “But”, qualified Yelich-O’Connor’s mental-buzz mentor, “they also have sanitized history to misinform their bourgeoise worldviews”. Journalist Iggy Swind has worked alongside reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet and photojournalist Peter Parker at the Daily Bugle. Swind’s investigations proved both super-heroes work undercover for the Hollywood media cartel to distract mass audiences with their mediocre ‘saving the world’ action sagas, leaving those that run the world at-large. Those investigations have been suppressed. See the inside story behind Lorde’s epic rise “Queen Bee Mentor: The professor who fed Lorde’s mental buzz” here... |

EVER-INCREASING PUBLIC DEBT UNDER FLAWED FINANCIAL RULES:
I thought of Wallace Klinck’s comments above in 'Thought for the Week' whilst looking at the Powerpoint presentation (doing the internet rounds) of the Sochi Winter Olympics Village. Governments, because of the deficiency of purchasing power in the economy (a deficiency that becomes larger and larger the more a nation modernises its economy, and replaces human labour with machines, technology and automation), the more governments are forced to compensate for this deficiency by borrowing new bank-created-credit which it spends into the economy for public works and services… and the people are eventually landed with the bank-created government debt!
In the epilogue to his paper “Social Credit and Economics” Victor Bridger writes: “To the layman both the subjects of Economics and Social Credit may appear to be beyond their comprehension. It is hoped that the previous pages have offered a glimpse not only of the differences between Orthodox Economics and Social Credit but the practical solutions to the problems that exist. Recent world events are more than an indication that there is a problem with the financial system that requires rectification. Under orthodox principles this is not likely to occur. However, the very steps taken to attempt to avert an international crisis are a vindication of the Social Credit principles embodied in its Policy and what needs to be done to correct, not only the financial accounting flaw in the financial system, but also to circumvent the ability to use credit in the damaging manner in which it has been used. Read further here…. Or what Eric Butler had to say in “Social Dynamics” at the end of Lecture Two Financial credit is created by the banking system against the real credit of the People: If industry is to function satisfactorily, the flow of purchasing power to the market place must be equal to the flow of the total prices at the market. Attempts to overcome the deficiency: More debt for capital works, credit-buying schemes, and “export drives”.
Or… this from a 1982 New Times issue: “If we were at a point in time where machines were capable of doing all the work, and we insisted that people still had to work for income, then everyone would starve because there would be no work. While this is an ideal limit, we are continuously moving towards that limit as machines and technology replace labour in production. As a consequence, we either supplement wages with a form of income not costed in industry, or we find more and more nonsense work for people to do in order to distribute incomes. All this nonsense work translates itself into wasted effort, and the ever-filling garbage dumps and polluted water supplies are quite a testament to this wasteful activity. The truth will set you free, and the truth is that capital and technology are replacing labour in production.
Does anybody remember the “Wages Pause” of 1982, introduced when the ACTU realised that its excessive demands had brought the economy to the brink of collapse? Does anybody remember that after the election of the Hawke government this wages pause was rechristened “The Accord”, which we were told was a wonderful achievement of the Hawke government.

WHAT’S REALLY WRONG WITH ECONOMIC LIBERALISM? by Peter West:
Jewish American economist Milton Friedman (1912-2006) summed up the nature of capitalism with regard to race and national identity issues accurately: Dr. Andreas Chai, senior lecturer in Economics, Griffith University (“A Truly Liberal Approach would Prefer Boat People”, The Australian 15 January, 2014 p.13) notes that there is competition between economic migrants and asylum-seekers across the “developed countries” (actually the West). Along with this, Dr. Chai says: “Australia, a nation historically built on immigration, has a moral obligation to accept refugees”. Dr. Chai says that “rational choice theory” tells us that those that “try the hardest” to get in would be the best migrants. Thus asylum seekers make considerable effort to get into Australia and by resisting them through border protection there is a “punishment of individual effort”, which contradicts “the basic philosophy of Australian Liberalism, which recognises that it is the individual whose energies produce progress”. Ah! The individual – all bow before him/her. I would imagine that every barbarian invader throughout history would be delighted by this misapplication of “rational” choice theory. Wouldn’t such invaders likewise have expended considerable effort to enter lands? Further, who is to say that asylum seekers who merely pay for a boat ride are making more effort than say economic migrants, either studying or buying up some Aussie business? The argument offers no proof, just as economic liberalism offers “no proof”. In fact, the doctrine has been repeatedly refuted. |

WILL LIBERALS HAVE THE GUTS TO GUT THE RACE VILIFICATION ACT? (Spoiler: NO!)by Ian Wilson LL.B. There is rightful concern among civil libertarians that Australia, under the influence of the politically correct Left and globalist Economic Right, that Australia is slowly drifting towards totalitarianism. Gillard’s defeated changes to the discrimination Acts would have ended free speech. There are parts of Australia’s anti-terrorist laws which civil libertarians believe breach basic rights, especially the preventative detention orders, which enable authorities to hold individuals for up to 14 days without charge. Then there is the Queensland state anti-bikie Legislation, which among other things, has sentences of solitary confinement and daylight deprivation, which arguably constitutes a form of torture given the psychological and physiological ill-effects of this. (The Australian 24 January 2014, p.24). That is why armed forces use such techniques to break prisoners. Finally we have my old favourite, the Race Vilification laws. I have collected a pile of articles over the Christmas break period on this. Rather than give a blow-by- blow account, the basic line is that generally the ethnic lobby doesn’t want any change, but rather wants even more restrictions on free speech – well, our speech, not theirs. Many Anglo writers who are critics want the total repeal of section 18C, which was used to nail Andrew Bolt. In Opposition, Liberal Brandis looked like he was going to make real, rather than cosmetic changes. Now he has said he doesn’t want “to weaken Australia’s anti-vilification laws”. (The Australian 31 January 2014, p.27) My guess is that at the end of all this, there will be changes made, but these changes will not give us back free speech that this Act stole, but rather increase the power of the ethnic lobby to use the Racial Discrimination Act as a political weapon. |

A WRITE-ON CAMPAIGN TO REDUCE IMMIGRATION TO AUSTRALIA:from Denis McCormack, Reduce Immigration Campaign: Here in Australia, our government’s planned immigration intake for 2013-14 is set at 214,000 across all categories (including refugees). We understand that this target is a legacy of the Gillard (Labor) government’s decision-making. It is not yet clear what future intakes are being planned by the Abbott (Coalition) government. In the past, Abbott has advocated for reduced immigration but more recently he has sided with the voices demanding a Big Australia. The budget statements in May 2014 could be the first we hear about which way he’ll move on this essential issue. Meanwhile, like the Swiss, we can use the voting system to influence change. Voters in South Australia should support the Stop Population Growth Now party which is fielding two candidates on a “reduce immigration” platform at the state election on 15 March 2014. Bob Crouch and Alex Hodges are standing for the Legislative Council (upper house). We wish them well in their campaign. Voters in both states should mark their ballot papers with the REDUCE IMMIGRATION slogan. Writing REDUCE IMMIGRATION on ballot papers at local, state and federal elections and by-elections in Australia does not invalidate the ballot, does not make the vote informal, and does not contravene any laws. The write-on campaign is a way to alert our decision-makers to the urgent need for policy reform on mass immigration. |

MAJORITY RULE ? NO… POLICY OF THE MAJORITY? YES…!
The Swiss people have voted by referendum to limit migration into their country. The arguments heard during the campaign would have been familiar in many European countries. Those backing limits on migration argued that EU migrants were undercutting Swiss workers. They said the numbers were pushing up rents and putting pressure on the health and education system. About 80,000 foreigners moved to the country last year. A quarter of Switzerland's population of 8 million are now foreigners. Message to Brussels: So the Swiss have chosen to regain control over migration even though it risks undermining the relationship with Brussels. There will not just be quotas but also restrictions on the right of foreigners to bring in family members and access social services. Businesses must give Swiss nationals priority when hiring staff. There will be a new clause in the constitution stating that migration must serve the nation's economic interest. Many of the precise details of the quotas have yet to be worked out and the current system will continue in the meantime. But all eyes will be on the reaction from Brussels. As the government in Switzerland admitted, "the new constitution runs contrary to the agreement on the free movement of people". It accepts that its relationship with the EU will have to be put on a new footing. So far the European Commission has only said that it regrets the vote which "goes against the principle of free movement of persons between the EU and Switzerland". EU-Swiss relations will be re-examined. Further: BBC News: Swiss vote to limit immigration. |

THE COMING RACE WAR: FAILURE OF THE MULTICULTURAL SOCIETY
by Brian Simpson. US journalist Fred Reed published on 7 January 2014 an article at Takimag.com, a conservative internet magazine entitled “The Pursuit of Racial Amity”. His argument was simple: the US multiracial society, primarily white and black America, has failed. Affirmative action, you name it, has failed. Reed doesn’t offer much by way of suggestions as to where this will all lead, but he does quote an even more interesting article by black conservative intellectual Professor Thomas Sowell.
In his article “Early Skirmishes in a Race War” (National Review Online, 24 October 2013), Sowell believes that the US is heading for a race war and “initial skirmishes in that race war have already begun, and have in fact been going on for some years”. It would be a mistake to believe that only white people are victims of what Sowell calls a “race war”. Black people suffer too as black Professor Walter E. Williams has put it “Should Black People Tolerate This?” here.... |

JESSE OWENS AND THE 1936 OLYMPICSby Richard Miller: The mainline media, I have noticed, always like to mention that US black athlete Jess Owens refuted Hitler’s Aryan philosophy by winning four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Usually it is not mentioned that Germany beat the US, 89 medals to 56, an inconvenient truth. I saw mention of Jesse Owens recently (The WE-Australian, 25-26 January 2014, pp.1,2) and surprise, surprise, the medal count was mentioned. Also mentioned was that Hitler did not publicly receive Owens or acknowledge him. Ironically the article says: “In a newspaper interview, Owens said that he was treated better at the Olympic Games in Germany than he was at home, where he was not allowed to stay in the same hotels as whites. He said maybe Hitler didn’t shake his hand, but neither did US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt”. It is good so see some “inconvenient truths” being aired, even if the overall aim is politically correct. |

UNCLE LEN IS NOT A FACELESS PERSON, OR GUESS WHO REALLY RULES USby Len with face. All you gentle souls in the great Eastern states know about “faceless people”, no doubt from the Kevin Rudd story, where power elites behind the scenes removed him in favour of Julia Gillard. Then I think they removed Gillard, or was that another group of “faceless men”? I am confused. But I have retained sacred pages from our beloved The Advertiser, 13 August 2011 (pp.47, 48) which gives extensive coverage of how the then Premier Mike Ryan was told that his “time was up” by two men from the shoppies union (SDA). The articles basically say that the ALP at the federal and state levels is run by unions. And we all know that the Libs are run by Big Business, which also runs everybody. There is a good quote I found on these yellowing pages (I use the newspapers for insulation while sleeping rough): “politicians cannot be trusted… our political culture has evolved to a point where honesty is often more damaging than staying quiet. The most crushing truth of all is, no one seems to care”. Well, wrong – we do! |

AND WHAT OF AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLING?by James Reed: In this “postmodern” world of relativism and “anything goes” it is good that a science teacher has stood up and said that “there’s no Asian way of looking at physics”. (The Weekend Australian 11-12 January 2014, pp.1,6) Australian education curriculum edicted that trendy topics such as sustainability, the Asian century and indigenous perspectives should be embraced by mathematics, physics and chemistry. This nonsense is pushed at some universities too it seems. There is concern by the Education Minister that the national curriculum has been undermined by Left-wing ideology, which has been big on political correctness and soft on hard teaching. Remedial classes at universities struggle to bring first year students up-to-scratch. This issue should have been resolved by John Howard in the 2007 version of the “culture wars”; but only when it looks like business is going to suffer do we see some action. It has been a little time now since I stopped teaching, but Brian and Chris are in their home stretches and they tell me that most of the kids are not interested in learning, especially the boys. They hate the feminist teachers and the anti-male environment which now dominates. Is it too late? Is a dark age in education here? I hope not. Australian students are now behind students in most of Asia and Eastern Europe, and going down fast. Do Anglo Saxons really want to learn what life is like at the bottom? |

THE MACHINE STOPS Series by Arnis Luks:
The Good News from Madagascar: A number of priests and bishops from African nations, having attended Social Credit study groups through the support of the Canadian “Pilgrims of Saint Michael”, have been ‘spreading the good news’ among their congregations. As a result:
In Madagascar more than 7,500 local rice-banks (grain storage ‘banks’… ed) opened recently and 145,000 families improved their lives… One local rice-bank stored up to 38 tons of rice last year. “For eight months, we can feed ourselves through our crops, but hunger begins with the arrival of the rainy season. We call this season the period during which we must bury the spoon... We were forced into debt with dishonest loan sharks. After three or four months, we had to pay back 4 times the amount borrowed in rice or cassava from each harvest. Thus, much of the harvest was in fact the lender’s and we lost during the next famine.” (3 harvests pa, more than 1,000%... ed)
Some farmers have even lost their land - to pay their debts. After harvest each year, we now put aside about half a tonne of rice... and avoid the vicious circle of debt... Thanks to our local economies, we can put our children into school, have clean water and improved sanitation.
Compare that report to the following: Over the past year, JP Morgan has paid some US$20bn to regulators for various violations relating to the US financial crisis. Source: here... These two reports are as much about marauding usurers as they are about accepting God's grace e.g., drawing on the communities’ social credit. That is, drawing on the various communities’ benefits, increments of association, as well as storage improvements, including the vermin-proof grain silo. The Madagascar community, who issue their own local currency, hold regular meetings to set fair prices, arrange charitable works for those suffering, share surplus and plan for the next harvest. They are improving their lot; being able to build community halls, repair roads and protect what they already have, using God's grace (social credit) as their foundation from which to build upon. Geoffrey Dobbs in his article What is Social Credit? explains that faithful behaviour can be seen as the mutual trust or belief that good will be done to each other... it is the glue that binds society together. Our local community can support each other and assist other communities nearby, remembering that small is beautiful. We can regularly share surplus and also store the harvest when it is plentiful. We can exercise our cultural capital by sharing knowledge, supporting those in need and evangelise so as to encourage others to do likewise. |

SMALL IS STILL BEAUTIFULby Chris Knight: Kirkpatrick Sale is one of the few great writers championing “smallness”, self-reliance, self-sufficiency and localism, as detailed in his 1980 book “Human Scale”. (This, ironically is a big book unlike say Schumacher’s “Small is Beautiful”, the classic.) Sale’s essay “After This Year’s Mess, Small is More Beautiful Than Ever”, reproduced at various websites, hits the spot in my opinion. Size contributes directly to government corruption, injustice and waste. Centralisation produces inefficiencies that are often covered up, corruptly. Further, nations of 300 million people (the US) and even 30 million simply can’t be governed by any system, democratic or not. The modern nation state is too big to work so the answer is “devolution”, “dissolution”, secession, separatism”. States in any case fall apart and collapse once they get too big. Most nations in the world, Sale points out, are smaller than 5.5 million and eighteen of the top 20 most prosperous, ranked by GDP, are under 5 million. The optimal size of successful states is 3-5 million people in a region no bigger than 35,000 square miles. Applied to Australia, Australia as well needs devolution, roughly on a state basis. Let Sydney and New South Wales continue to home those with collectivist, left-wing views, refugees and migrants. Other states need to find their own independence. While this may at present seem unrealistic, the likelihood of global/ecological breakdown and collapse would make the localist option essential. Globalism assumes that the consumerist party will go on - Forever. History will show that they were wrong. |
